Gosien’s medical office closes

Dr. Oscar Gosien’s medical office in Oak Hill is closed until further notice, according to the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office.

Gosien, 73, was charged in December with the felony offenses of delivery of a controlled substance and conspiracy to commit a felony.

His secretary, Kathy Treadway, 54, was also charged with the same two offenses.

These arrests came after a lengthy investigation conducted by officers from the Central West Virginia Drug Task Force, the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office, the West Virginia State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation and the Oak Hill Police Department.

Sheriff Steve Kessler said his office had received complaints about  Gosien for a long time, alleging that the physician frequently provided prescription medications to female patients in exchange for sexual favors.

Patients of Gosien experiencing a medical emergency should go immediately to their local hospital emergency department.

Any patients wishing to pick up copies of their medical records may do so Jan. 10, 15, 16 or 17 between 9 and 11:30 a.m. or between 1:30 and 3:30 p.m.
