The West Virginia State Police will conduct a sobriety checkpoint at Glen Jean, W.Va. 16, Scarbro Road, Fayette County, Friday from 8 p.m. until 2 a.m. Saturday.

Police say the purpose of this checkpoint is to deter impaired drivers, as well as to educate the public about the dangers of driving an automobile while impaired by alcohol and/or drugs.

Police say they urge the motoring public to assist the State Police in their efforts to stop driving under the influence by reporting impaired drivers.
