Homecoming activities kick off Thursday

By Staff Reports

Activities for the 2006 Homecoming celebration at WVU Tech kick off Thursday evening at 8 p.m. with a concert featuring 2 Skinny Dorks and the Family in the Tech Center ballroom. The concert, which is open to everyone, is free.

The annual Hall of Fame banquet will be held in the ballroom on Friday, Oct. 13 from 6 to 8 p.m. (For more, see this week’s sports section.) Admission to the banquet is $15 and reservations are required.

There will be a pep rally and bonfire on the grassy knoll at Maclin Hall at 9 p.m. on Friday. Everyone is urged to attend and cheer on the Golden Bears.

Both Davis Hall and the Baisi Center will host open house events on Saturday morning from 9 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.

The Homecoming parade begins at 10 a.m. on Third Avenue. Parade-goers are invited to wear their “groovy” clothes in keeping with the theme of Homecoming 2006: “That 70s Homecoming.”

At 1 p.m., the WVU Tech Golden Bears will clash with Belhaven College in the Homecoming game on Martin Field, and the Homecoming dance is set for 9 p.m. until midnight in the Tech Center ballroom.
