Harold Lloyd Gill
Harold Lloyd Gill, 73, of Meadow Bridge, died Nov. 14, 2013, at his home, surrounded by his loving family.
Born Nov. 25, 1939, at Meadow Bridge, he was the only child of the late Harold Willis and Clara Cox Gill.
Lloyd worked as a mechanic for both Boley and Center Chevrolet in Rainelle and was a member of the Springdale Church of Christ.
Surviving: his wife of 54 years, Lillian “Jean” Greer Gill; his son, Harold L. “Joe” Gill Jr. and wife Janet of Meadow Bridge; his grandson, Jeremy Gill and wife Jessie, and his great-grandson, Mason Gill, all of Backus Mountain; and a special caregiver, Karen Bert of Fayetteville.
Services were Nov. 16 at Smathers Funeral Chapel, Inc., with Pastor Sherman McCombs officiating.

Jane Ann Samuels Simms
Jane Ann Samuels Simms, 58, of Oak Hill, died Nov. 13, 2013, at her home.
Born Feb. 26, 1955, in Oak Hill, she was the daughter of the late John R. and Dorothy Leffel Samuels. A brother, Johnny Samuels, and sisters, Alice Honaker and Brenda Hunter, also preceded her in death.
Jane was a homemaker and a former employee of Heck’s Department Store, various other department stores and the Committee on Aging.
She enjoyed gardening, collecting antiques and was very good at doing craft work.
Surviving: her loving family which includes two daughters, Lesley Simms and Brittney Simms, both of Fayetteville; her loving ex-husband, Tommy Simms of Oak Hill; brothers, David Samuels of Hampton, Va., and Hugh Samuels of Kentucky; sisters, Barbara Fuller and Shella Smith, both of Virginia; one grandchild, Brynnlee Jackson of Fayetteville; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be on Saturday, Nov. 23, at 2 p.m. at Tyree Funeral Home in Oak Hill with Rev. Ernest Francis officiating. Burial will be at High Lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the funeral home.

Janice Ruthe Wells-Hash
Janice Ruthe Wells-Hash, 86, of Danese, died Nov. 15, 2013, at Kanawha Hospice Care, Charleston, following a short illness.
Born March 29, 1927, in Layland, she was the daughter of the late John T. Wells and Lilian Clare Kincaid-Wells. She also was preceded in death by her soul mate and loving husband of 64 years, J.B. Hash Jr., and brothers, Ellis Wells and John T. Wells Jr.
Janice was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, and mother-in-law.
She attended Zickafoose Memorial Church.
Surviving: daughter, Cassandra L. Hash-Cooper and husband Joe; son, James B. Hash III and wife Vickie; sister, Jeanette Shuck; brothers, Archie Wells and Larry Wells; granddaughter, Melanie S. Allen; great-grandson, Brackston C. Allen; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services were Nov. 20 at the Wallace Memorial Mausoleum, with Rev. Jack Reeves and Rev. Sherman McCombs officiating.
