Anna Faye Bowles
Anna Faye Bowles, 77, of Danese, died April 17, 2013, in the Greenbrier Valley Medical Center at Fairlea.
Born May 31, 1935, at Thayer, she was the daughter of the late Oswald and Delphie Berry Adkins. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Junior Johnson (Jack) Bowles; her daughter, Judy Ann Bowles; her granddaughter, Tori Danielle Bowles; and a brother, Jerry Adkins.
Anna was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.
She loved gardening and spending time with her family and friends.
Surviving: sons, Jack Bowles of Danese and Steve Bowles and wife Melissa of Layland; brothers, Jimmy Adkins and wife Paula of Springdale and Donald Adkins of Thayer; sisters, Wilda De La Garza of California, Linda Smith (Arley “Flipper” Tincher) of Oak Hill and Ella Bowles of Green Sulphur; and grandsons, Colton and M.J. Bowles of Layland.
A graveside service was held April 21 in the Richmond Cemetery at Sandstone.

Marlena Mason Garcia
Marlena Ann “Punkin” Mason Garcia, 61, of Oak Hill, died peacefully April 21, 2013, at her home, surrounded by her devoted husband, Jesse Garcia Jr., and her entire family, following complications from cancer.
Marlena was born at home in Summerlee on Oct. 1, 1951. She was the daughter of the late Mitchell S. “Jim” Mason Sr. and Joyce N. Boothe Mason of Summerlee. She was preceded in death by her father, “Jim” Mason, in February 1983; her mother, Joyce, in October 2006; and a brother, James Allen Mason, in May 2006.
Marlena was a member of the congregation of Summerlee Wesleyan Church in Summerlee where she served the Lord in service to her community.
Marlena was a past employee of The Fayette Tribune, Wal-Mart, and Gino’s of Oak Hill.
She was a talented and accomplished individual who enjoyed many hobbies including gardening, cooking, computers, homemaking. She was a devoted companion to her husband, Jesse, for 23 years.
Marlena was an individual who was very dedicated to God, her family, and her church, and she was loved by everyone she touched.
Surviving: her loving husband Jesse Garcia Jr.; daughters, Loreli Clark Ferguson and husband Christopher of Chesapeake, Ohio, and Aime Clark Whittington and husband Jerry of Hickory, N.C.; stepdaughter, Bridget F. Garcia Ramirez and husband Jose Ramirez of Richmond, Va.; granddaughters, Corinne Rose Ferguson, Lila Claire Ferguson, and Cecilia Paige Ferguson of Chesapeake, Ohio; stepgrandchildren, Ismael and Alondra Garcia of Richmond, Va.; brother, Jeffrey W. Mason Sr. and wife Kathy L. Blake Mason of Oak Hill and their children, Jeffrey W. Mason II and Victoria E. “Tori” Mason; brother, Mitchell S. Mason Jr., and wife Martha A. Minnich Mason of Vinton, Va., and their son and daughter-in-law, Mitchell S. Mason III and Caitlyn R. Mason; brother, Mark E. Mason of Oak Hill and sons Mark Mason Jr., and John Mason; sister, Katharine J. “KJ” Mason Harper and husband Joseph R. Harper and son Joseph R. Harper II of Oak Hill; great-nephew, Keltan G. Harper; and several cousins.
Funeral service was April 24 at High Lawn Funeral Home Chapel, Oak Hill, with Pastor Bob James officiating. She was carried to her final resting place in High Lawn Memorial Park by her family.
The family requests that donations “In Memory of Marlena Ann Mason Garcia” be made to Hospice of Southern West Virginia, 103 Eisenhower Drive, Beckley, WV 25801.
