Mary Beth ‘Cookie’ Altice
Mary Beth “Cookie” Altice, 70, of Fayetteville, died July 22, 2013, at Bowers Hospice House.
Born May 14, 1943, at Beckley, she was the daughter of the late Emmitt Smith and Melda Marie Fulcher Smith. Cookie also was preceded in death in September 2012 by her husband of 18 years James “Jimmy” Ervin Altice Sr., and a stepson, James “Jimbo” Ervin Altice Jr.
Surviving: daughters, Jimelle Dillon of Fayetteville and Tralissa Combs and her husband, Lee, of Fayetteville; stepdaughters, Tina Sue Francisco and her husband, Bradley, of Mt. Hope, Lisa Sue Sadler and her husband, Jimmy, of Daniels, Melissa Ann Stiefer and her husband, Mark, of Coal City, and Tammy Lynn Altice of Crab Orchard; brother, Tommy Douglas Smith and his wife, Kari, of Beckley; aunt, Jannie Knepp and her husband, Tom, of Beckley; four grandchildren; 11 stepgrandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a very special good friend, Eydie Polk and her husband, Wayne.
The funeral was July 27 at High Lawn Funeral Home Chapel, Oak Hill, with Rev. Doug Alderman officiating. Burial followed in High Lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill.

Henrietta Mae Argabright Brellahan
Henrietta Mae Argabright Brellahan, 78, of Minden, died July 25, 2013, at Plateau Medical Center in Oak Hill.
Born Feb. 15, 1935, at Red Star, she was the daughter of the late Henry Martin and Rose Kozma Argabright. Her husband, Michael B. Brellahan, and sisters, Dora F. Hiltunen and Clara Terry, also preceded her in death.
She retired from Value City in Beckley.
Mrs. Brellahan was a member of the Baptist faith.
Surviving: sons, Edward Brellahan of Ohio and Clifford “Ned” Brellahan and wife Debi of Mount Hope; daughters, Debra Settle of Minden, Barbara Brellahan and husband Frank of Oak Hill and Margaret Tate and husband Johnnie of Umatilla, Fla.; 14 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren; and special friends, Bob and Sandy Thompson, Red and Loretta Treadway and Deborah and Jack Clay.
Funeral services were July 29 at Tyree Funeral Home in Oak Hill with Rev. Ronald Richards officiating. Burial was at Gethsemane Memorial Gardens, Oak Hill.
