Wanda Dileonardo Sale

Wanda (Yolanda) Dileonardo Sale, 82, of Fayetteville, died after a long illness July 28, 2013, at Bowers Hospice House, Beckley.

Born Nov. 5, 1930, at Oswald, she was the daughter of the late John and Nancy Dileonardo. She also was preceded in death by her brothers, Nick Dileonardo and Willie Dileonardo; and niece, Nancy Neal.

Mrs. Sale was a member of Fayetteville United Methodist Church, where she was active in United Methodist Women.

She was a devoted mother and grandmother as well as a tireless worker and caregiver for her family.

Surviving: her husband of 60 years, J.J. Sale; children, Susan (Manuel) Rodriguez, Michael (Trina) Sale, and Sally Sale; grandchildren, Joseph, Kayla, and Luke; sister, Minnie (Dale) McGraw; nephews, John (Kathy) Williams and Robert Williams; and niece, Lisa (David) Spencer.

Funeral services were July 31 at Dodd-Payne-Hess Funeral Home Chapel, Fayetteville, with Pastor Clare Sulgit-Horn officiating. Burial followed in Huse Memorial Park, Fayetteville.

Katharine Ruth Rose Siemiaczko

Katharine Ruth Rose Siemiaczko, 69, of Gauley Bridge, formerly of Charlton Heights, died July 8, 2013.

As per her wishes Kathy donated her body to the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine in Lewisburg.  

A memorial mass of Christian burial was held July 27 at St. Anthony’s Shrine Catholic Church in Boomer with Fr. John Rice as celebrant.

Afton C. Willis

Afton C. Willis, 63, of Fayetteville, died July 20, 2013, at Raleigh General Hospital.

Born July 4, 1950, at Richwood, he was the son of the late Afton C. Willis Sr. and Priscilla Nancy (Adkins) Willis. He also was preceded in death in June 2006 by his loving wife and mother of his two children, Bonnie Jones Willis, and a sister, Peggy Ann Almond.

Mr. Willis was a former employee at Cogar Manufacturing as senior fabricator, and at Class VI Rafting Company as equipment truck driver and mechanic.

Surviving: daughter, Kimberly Martin and her husband, Ira, of Brooklyn; son, Paul D. Willis and his wife, Angie (Ang), of Brooklyn; girlfriend and partner, Deanna Brooks, and her sons, Buddy Brooks and James Brooks of Wonderland; sisters, Sandra Long and her husband, Eddie, of Lanark and Pamela Byrd and her husband, Danny, of Mullins; and grandchildren, all of whom he nicknamed, Ashley (Baby), Bailey (Bay), Christian (Chritt), Brooklyn (Brookie) and Jackson (J.D.).

Funeral service was July 25 at High Lawn Funeral Home Chapel, Oak Hill, with Rev. Jackie Pittman officiating. In keeping with his wishes, he was cremated.
