Josephine Elizabeth Parker, 92, of Oak Hill, died June 7, 2012, at Hidden Valley Center, Oak Hill.
Born Aug. 31, 1919, at Fayetteville, she was the daughter of the late John and Nellie Coppney. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Lee Parker, in 1965; nine children; and four brothers and sisters.
Josephine was a member of the Oak Hill Apostolic Holiness Church and a homemaker.
Surviving: daughters, Helen Jean Green (Bobby), Annie Canterbury, Deloris Smith (Bubbie), and Betty Kuhl; son, Eugene Lee Parker (Sharon); three brothers and sisters; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services were June 11 at Dodd-Payne-Hess Funeral Home, Fayetteville, with Rev. Carlos Lewis, Pastor Phillip Fuller, and Pastor Eric Lewis officiating. Burial followed at Huse Memorial Park, Fayetteville.

Jean Elizabeth Penman
Jean Elizabeth Penman, 87, Beaver, formerly of Mt. Hope, died June 9, 2012, at Beckley.
Born Sept. 15, 1924, at Natalie, Pa., she was the daughter of the late David and Harriet Fahringer Billman. She also was preceded in death by sisters, Elvina Wolfgang and Opal Maury; and brothers, Roy, David, Ambrose, Marvin “Pete,” John and Clarence Billman.
Mrs. Penman was an artist, enjoying painting and quilting.
She loved playing basketball in high school. She was a 1942 graduate of Mount Carmel Township High School, in Locust Gap, Pa., and was a member of the Maxwell Hill Baptist Church of Beckley.
She taught Sunday school at Mt. Hope Baptist Temple for many years while residing in Mt. Hope for 36 years.
Surviving: her husband of 64 years, Robert James Penman; a son, James Penman and his wife, Elizabeth, of Valparaiso, Ind.; a daughter, Joanne Penman and her husband, Charles Ramberg, of Charleston, S.C.; and grandchildren, Wendy Boughamer, and Robert, Anne and Katherine Penman.
Funeral services were June 12 at Blue Ridge Funeral Home, Beckley, with Pastor Ken Killen officiating.
The family requests the donations in Mrs. Penman’s memory be made to Maxwell Hill Baptist Church, Beckley.
