Emma Jean Fox Anderson
Emma Jean Fox Anderson, 77, of Hico, died May 13, 2014, following a long illness.
Emma Jean was born Oct. 25, 1936, in Ansted, the daughter of the late Harold H. Wood and the late Verma Wood Hargis. She also was preceded in death by her husbands, Robert R. Fox Sr. and Edward Anderson Sr.; a son-in-law, Mitchell Legg; a daughter-in-law, Amy Legg Fox; and a granddaughter, Stacey Nicole Legg Wilson.
Emma Jean attended Shady Grove United Methodist Church of Hico and was a homemaker.
Surviving: her daughters, Karen Lilly and husband Wayne Lilly of White Pine, Tenn., Judy Hall and husband Donald L. Hall of Hico, Roberta Legg of Victor, Lisa Anderson and husband Danny Anderson of Pollocksville, N.C., Kathy Fox and Darrell Caldwell of Lookout; a son, Robert Fox Jr. and wife Andrea Fox of Hico; seven grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; a brother, Ronnie Wood of Florida; and a sister, Lois Wood Sovsa of West Virginia.
Funeral services were May 17 at Wallace and Wallace Funeral Home Chapel in Ansted with Pastor Clarence Grigsby and Rev. Danny Anderson officiating. Burial followed in Nuttall Cemetery at Edmond

Elizabeth Ann Higginbotham Beals
Elizabeth Ann Higginbotham Beals, 72, of Oak Hill, died May 16, 2014, at Hilltop Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Hilltop.
Born April 4, 1942, at Hamlin, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Delma Mink Higginbotham. Her husband, Kenneth Junior “J.R.” Beals; son, James Eades; son-in-law, William “Bill” Dooley; and sisters, Jean Morris, Irene Higginbotham and Ellen Higginbotham, also preceded her in death.
She was a retired Certified Nursing Assistant for Kate Boone Nursing Home.
Mrs. Beals was a member of the Loop Creek Baptist Church, Wriston.
Surviving: son, Kenny Beals and wife Angela of South Carolina; daughters, Patty Brown and husband Scott of Dayton, Ohio, and Lisa Harrah and Joyce Dooley, both of Oak Hill; brothers, Cecil Higginbotham of Luray, Va., and Robert Higginbotham of Oak Hill; 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral service was May 19 at Tyree Funeral Home in Oak Hill with Danny Damron officiating. Burial was at High Lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill.
