Jeffrey Wayne ‘Jeff’ Bair

Jeffrey  Wayne “Jeff” Bair, 43, of Maple Fork, died June 7, 2014 at CAMC General Division in Charleston.

Born Oct. 22, 1970 at Beckley, he was the son of Willie Kay Davis Bair of Bradley, and the late Joseph Bair Sr. An infant brother, James Howard, also preceded him in death.

Jeff was employed at Lewis Automotive Group where he worked with long-time friends. He loved his job, was proud of his co-workers and looked forward to going there every day. For over 20 years he was also a livestock farmer.  

Surviving, in addition to his mother: his children, Jeffrey Chase (age 12), Jennifer Christine (age 10) and Jordan Cole (age 6), all of Mount Hope; brother, Joe Bair Jr. and his companion, Angie Turner, of Bradley; sister, Tina Ross and husband Bill of Bradley; nephew, Richard Ross and companion Alisha Lilly of Beckley; niece, Robin Ross of Mount Hope; former wife, Kristi Gibson Bair; and his grandmother, Lockie J. Worrells Davis.

Funeral services were June 12 at Tyree Funeral Home in Mount Hope with Rev. Johnny Catlett officiating. Burial was at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Prosperity.

Lowell Douglas Billups

Lowell Douglas Billups, 72, of Hico, died June 14, 2014, at the Hubbard Hospice House in Charleston following a long illness.

Born March 26, 1942, in Ramsey, he was the son of the late Esmond and Elizabeth Hesse Billups. He also was preceded in death by a sister, Alice Lovett, and brothers, Darrell Billups and Jerry Billups.

Mr. Billups was of the Baptist faith.

He was in the United States Army, a truck driver working for the Department of Highways for 35 years.

He loved to do mechanic work, watching NASCAR, wresting and golf.

Lowell was a loving husband, father, grandfather and loved his many friends.

Surviving: his wife, Sandra Campbell Billups of Hico; sons, Doug Billups of Hico, Travis Billups and Olivia of Phoenix, Ariz., and Jason Billups and Ayunnah of Boomer; grandchildren, Joshua, Tyler, Desmond and Haley; sisters, Ruth Stover and Jay Yeagor of Marion, Ohio, Joann Novak and  Frank of Reynoldsburg, Ohio, and Barbara Hinkle of Columbus, Ohio; and brothers, Danny Billups of Ramsey, Elmer Billups and  Pandora of Canvas, Larry Billups and  Martha of Oak Hill, and Scott Billups and Kay of Brunswick, Ohio.

Services were held June 17 at the Wallace & Wallace Funeral Chapel in Ansted with Pastor Jim Dempsey officiating. Burial followed at the Cliffy Cemetery at Hico.
