O.C. Allen III
O.C. Allen III of Rainelle died Oct. 7, 2012, at his home, following a long illness.
Born Dec. 7, 1949, at Danese, he was the son of the late Orland Clifton Allen II and Lorlene Gilkerson Allen.
O.C. was a member of Lilly Valley Baptist Church in Lilly Park, and of the Christian faith.
He worked as a heavy equipment operator and was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers.
Surviving: daughters, Kathy Blevins and Jennifer Cone, both of Danese; sons, Orland C. Allen IV of Rainelle, and Joseph Allen of Hilton Village; sisters, Karen Nestor of Spanishburg, Sandra Toney of Danese, Vicky Starling of Princeton, and Tammy Allen of Richmond, Va.; nine grandchildren, and three stepgrandchildren.
Services were Oct. 10 at Sewell Valley Baptist Church of Rainelle, with Pastor Don Bean and the Rev. Fred Fryar officiating. Burial followed in the Halidon Cemetery at Green Sulphur Springs.

Golden E. Argabright
Golden E. Argabright, 100, of Barberton, Ohio, died Oct. 6, 2012.
Born at Hilltop, he was the son of the late Daniel V. and Eliza Jane Cregar Argabright. His wife of 66 years, Catherine E. Syner Argabright, and a son, Robert Earl Argabright, also preceded him in death.
Mr. Argabright had been a resident of Barberton for 51 years. Employed by the New River Coal Company for 21 years, he became part owner of Olson Sheet Metal in 1962, retiring in 1972.
He was a member of the Norton Baptist Church, an avid fisherman and hunter, especially deer hunting, and he enjoyed watching all sports on TV.
Golden took up golfing at age 91 and had his first “hole-in-one” at Copley Greens at age 100.
Surviving: son, John Argabright and wife Marsha of Norton, Ohio; daughters, Jean VanHook of Ft. Myers, Fla., and Eureka Orr and husband Ronald, and Janice Wilkinson and husband Jerry, all of Simpsonville, S.C.; 17 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren and 48 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Thursday, Oct. 11, at 1 p.m. at Tyree Funeral Home in Oak Hill with Rev. George Holliday officiating. Burial will be at Hilltop Cemetery.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. until service time on Thursday at the funeral home.
