Ronnie E. Bickford

Ronnie E. Bickford, 61, of Beckwith, died Oct. 25th 2012, at Plateau Medical Center.

Born Sept. 5, 1951, in Beckwith, he was the son of the late Robert and Fannie Holly Bickford. He also was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents and two infant brothers, Bobby and Tommy.

Mr. Bickford retired from the City of Oak Hill after 25 years of service.

He was loved dearly by many. He will be missed terribly but remembered oh so greatly.

Surviving: his wife, Geraldine; daughters, Misty Roberts and Wendy Sears; stepchildren, Rachel White and Nathan Adkins; his grandchildren, Natalie, Cayla, Chelsea, Kristen, Tyler, Mya, Luke and Morgan; his brothers, Charles and (Mary /Snookie) Bickford of Hilltop, Leo Bickford of Chicago, Jim and (Bonnie) Bickford of Beckwith, Jack and (Margaret Ann) Bickford of Oak Hill, and Leonard and (Anna) Bickford of Minden; his sisters, Frances and (Jerry Jones) Giles of Beckley, Trudy Bickford of Fayetteville, Louise and (David) Gillespie of Beckwith, and Lisa Gaye (Jerry) Bess of Pinnacle, N.C.; many nephews, nieces and other relatives and many, many friends; a special niece, Mackenzie, and nephews, Maximus and Mathias; and very close and special friends, Samuel (Hambone) Boardwine, Jimmy Bryson, and Steve and Trena Payne.

Funeral service was Oct. 29, at Dodd-Payne-Hess Funeral Home, Fayetteville, officiated by Pastor Jackie Pittman.

Euva Lee Campbell

Euva Lee Campbell, 91, of Philadelphia, Pa., formerly of Fayetteville, died Oct. 21, 2012, at Cathedral Villages, Philadelphia, following an extended illness.

Born June 13, 1921, at Princeton, she was the daughter of the late Ada Sue Daughtery and Wesley Lee Dunn. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Charles William Campbell; son, Larry Wayne Campbell; sister, Virginia Carnes; and her brothers, Oscar, Ira, and Billie Dunn.

Mrs. Campbell attended the Fayetteville First Church of God where she was a member of the first congregation and a Sunday school teacher to the younger children.

She was also a member of Fayetteville Christ Fellowship, Gatewood Brethren Church, and participated in several projects at The Learning Center.    

She worked as a cook at Altamont School at Garten; she was a clerk at Cook’s Department Store, Fayetteville, and at Cotcamp’s General Store, Gatewood; and a Chapter I aide in the Reading and Math Lab at Gatewood Elementary School.

Mrs. Campbell was well known in her neighborhood for her hospitality, culinary skills and open-door policy to share time in her kitchen. Her guests were the recipients of her wonderful hugs in addition to her delicious food.

Surviving: her brother, Melvin Lewis Dunn of Princeton; sons, Charles Lee Campbell and wife Georgia of Markleville, Ind., and Randy L. Campbell and wife Diane of Burlington, N.C.; daughter, Donna Jean Wolf and husband Richard of Philadelphia, Pa.; grandchildren, Angela Griffin, Dawn Dilello, and Brandy Campbell; and great-grandchildren, Justin Griffin, Kurstin Griffin, and Campbell Dilello.

Funeral services were Oct. 25, at Dodd-Payne-Hess Funeral Home, Fayetteville, with Pastor Scott Lester officiating. Burial followed in Huse Memorial Park, Fayetteville.
