Sue Elzada Lawson
Sue Elzada Lawson, 64, of Flatwoods, died March 17, 2012, following a long illness.
Born Dec. 18, 1946, at Rhonda, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Bessie Tanner Bickford. Sue also was preceded in death by a daughter, Lucinda Sue Whitt; brothers, Franklin Delano Bickford, Ervin Ray Bickford, and Donnie Jean Bickford; and a sister, Doris Adair.
She was a homemaker.
Surviving: daughter, Alisha Marie Lawson of Flatwoods; sons, Thomas Raymond Whitt of Taylor, Mich., and Michael Allen Whitt and Glenn Joda Whitt, both of Flatwoods; sister, Judith Ann Bickford of Taylor, Mich.; 12 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Thursday, March 22 at Goodhope Baptist Church in Graydon with Pastor Mike Skaggs officiating. Burial will follow in the Goodhope Church Cemetery.
Friends may call Thursday from 1 p.m. until funeral time.

James ‘Cody’ Lewis
James “Cody” Lewis, 70, of Fayetteville, died March 13, 2012, at Plateau Medical Center.
Born Aug. 24, 1941, in Lansing, he was the son of the late Edith Lillian Lewis and Cormel Woodrow Vandall. A beloved son, Brent Erick Lewis, also preceded him in death.
Mr. Lewis worked as a maintenance engineer at Bethesda Park Condominiums in Rockville, Md.
Surviving: his wife of 51 years, Mary Ellen Walker Lewis; daughters, Vicki Aylor and husband Raymond of Silver Spring, Md., and Edith Gates and husband Thomas of Silver Spring, Md.; son, Cody Lewis and companion Jessica Oatridge of Fayetteville; sisters, Joyce Kuel of Wisconsin, Marilyn Promise of Coal City, Ill., Carolyn Skaggs of Fayetteville, and Nancy Nickell of Beckley; brothers, James Vandall of Fayetteville, Roger Vandall of Fayetteville, and Gary Lewis of Arizona; and 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
The family will have a memorial service at a later date.
