Donnie E. Pethtel
Donnie E. Pethtel, 77, of Fayetteville, died March 17, 2012.
Born in Catawba, he was the son of the late Albert and Pearl Towns Pethtel. He also was preceded in death by sisters, Lavada Porter, Opal Summers, Wanda Reed, Irene Johnson, Oleta Pethtel, Jeannette Chernok; and brothers, Charles Pethtel, Lonnie Pethtel and Frances Pethtel.
Donnie enjoyed hunting, the outdoors, his dogs and raising chickens. Donnie loved spending time with his family.
He was employed as a brakeman for the railroad. Donnie was of the Protestant faith.
Surviving: his loving wife, Margaret Pethtel; sisters, Bea Hause of Naples, Fla., and Nola Shaulis of St. Clairsville, Ohio; and also several nieces and nephews.
Per Donnie’s wishes there will be no services. He will be laid to rest at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.

Theresa A. Poore
Ms. Theresa A. Poore, 51, of Pittsburgh, Pa., formerly of Fayetteville, died March 13, 2012.
Born Jan. 12, 1961, in Fayetteville, she was the daughter of Clara M. Poore of Pittsburgh, Pa.
Ms. Poore was employed as a cashier at Giant Eagle.
She was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Garten, and Local Union 23.
Surviving, in addition to her mother: her son, Clifton L. Poore of Pittsburgh; brother, Jerry W. Poore of Upper Darby, Pa.; sister, Arvella L. Fruit of Minden; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were March 19 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Garten, with Rev. Keith Walker officiating. Burial followed in Rotan Family Cemetery, Fayetteville.

Violet Marie Walker Proctor
Violet ‘Marie’ Walker Proctor, 74, of Erie, Pa., died March 18, 2012, at her residence.
Born April 23, 1937, in Smithers, she was daughter of the late James and Martha E. Jenkins Walker. She also was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Tonya Marie Carrier; a great-granddaughter, Adrianna Carrier; sisters, Vernie Louise Kales and Margaret Virginia Dorman; and brothers, James Lafayette Walker Jr., George Marshall Walker and Jack Lee Walker.
Marie was a homemaker and also did volunteer work at Burton Elementary School over the last few years. She loved to sing, dance and loved country music. Her heart was always open to helping others.
She enjoyed watching baseball games and going shopping. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family.
Surviving: daughters, Rose Marie Proctor Meucci, Donna J. Proctor Murray, and Brenda M. Riu; son, Cecil Wayne Proctor; seven grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
A service and burial will be Saturday at High Lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill.
