Lewis Mack Prather

Lewis Mack Prather, 66, died March 12, 2012, at CAMC Memorial Hospital, surrounded by his family and friends.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 23 at 10 a.m. at Rivermont Presbyterian Homes, 60 Fourth Ave., Montgomery.

Eunice Evelyn Richardson

Eunice Evelyn Richardson, 82, of Parkersburg, formerly of Oak Hill, died March 13, 2012.

Born July 24, 1929, in Glen Daniel, she was the daughter of the late Fred J. and Macie Claypool Hawley. She also was preceded in death by two brothers, Earl and Ralph Hawley. 

Eunice was a longtime member of the Oak Hill Baptist Church and was very active in the choir and the women’s ministries of the church.

Surviving: her loving and devoted husband of 65 years, Conard C. Richardson; her son, Phillip Richardson and wife Margaret; her daughter, Judith Rathbone and husband John; grandsons Aaron Rathbone and wife Tracy, and James Conard Richardson and wife Missy; granddaughters, Mrs. Shannon Reigle and husband Chad, and Anne Blaire Rathbone; five great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Mrs. Edith Hawley; and a very caring niece, Sue Cangemi and her husband, Jim.

Services were March 16 at the Oak Hill Baptist Church in Oak Hill with the Rev. David White officiating. Entombment followed at the Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, Beckley.

Justine Wood Sampson

Justine Wood Sampson, 84, of Hilton Village, died March 11, 2012.

Born Aug. 22, 1927, in Winona, she was the daughter of the late John D. Wood and Mary E. Secrist Wood. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Sampson; granddaughter, Lisa Hall Jones; brother, John Edward Wood; and sister, Betty Jo Wood.
