Rhonda Jones Coleman
Mrs. Rhonda Jones Coleman of 3051 Calloway Road, Raeford, N.C., formerly of Virginia, died Jan. 22, 2010, in FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst at the age of 41.
Mrs. Coleman was born on Jan. 8, 1969, in Ft. Stewart, Ga. Her grandparents, Robert and Margaret Conrad, and her brother, Robert Jones, preceded her in death.
Being a proud “Army Brat,” Rhonda was raised stateside and in Germany.
She attended Westover Senior High School and Sandhills Community College. She was vice president of Artichoke Homes in Southern Pines.
Surviving: her husband, Jeffrey L. Coleman of Raeford; daughter, Danielle Coleman of Raeford; sons, Donnell and Patrick Coleman, both of Raeford; her father and mother, Howard L. Jones and Betty C. Jones of Raeford; sister, Tambra James of Raeford; brothers, Jonathan Jones, Timothy Jones and Mark Jones, all of Raeford; niece, Jessica James of Raeford; and nephews, Joseph James of Raeford and Dayshon Coleman of Fayetteville.
A funeral service was held Jan. 27 at the Community United Methodist Church.

Garnet ‘Sally’ Goldman
Garnet “Sally” Louise Goldman, of Edgewater, Md., a native of Fayette County and a resident of Anne Arundel County for over 30 years, died Jan. 30, 2010, at Mandrin Hospice House in Harwood, Md.
Born May 18, 1921, in Fayette County, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Judson Hicks and Willie Alice (nee Harris) Hicks. She also was predeceased by her brothers, Oliver Clyde, Carl Joseph, William Robert and Jay Junior Hicks; and her sisters, Daisy May Hicks, Dorothy Noel Bloxton and Mary Lucille Blake.
Sally was a hairstylist and enjoyed making porcelain dolls. She also was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Annapolis, Md.
Surviving: her husband of over 46 years, Frank Goldman; daughter, Barbara “Sharon” Zuccaro of Annapolis, Md.; and granddaughter of Kimmie Lee Jenkins of Baltimore, Md.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, Feb. 4 at 11 a.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church, 1300 West Street, Annapolis, Md. Interment will be private.

Anita Lela Blevins Hinton
Anita Lela Blevins Hinton, 64, of Fayetteville, died Jan. 31, 2010, at Fayette Nursing and Rehab Center, Fayetteville, following a long illness.
Born July 24, 1945, at Fayetteville, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Nannie Mae Haga Ble-vins. She also was preceded in death by her brother, James “Junior” Blevins; and her sister Clema Frazier.
Anita was a member of Grace Baptist Church, Fayetteville. She worked as a CNA at area nursing homes before her health would not let her continue.
She was a caregiver and she was always doing good deeds for other folks.
Surviving: her son, Darel Hinton Jr. of Pittsburgh, Pa.; her daughter, Leah Hinton of Scarbro; sisters, Melba Foote of Jackson, Mich., Linda Roark of Lancaster, Ohio, and Kay Greene and husband Leslie of Oak Hill; brothers, Hubert Blevins of Marion, Va., Bobby Blevins and wife Cleta of Fayetteville, and Jerry Perkins and wife Evie of Fayetteville; and grandchildren, Austin Rodkey and Simon Steele Hinton.
Funeral services were Feb. 3 at Dodd-Payne-Hess Funeral Home, Fayetteville, with the Rev. Jerry Perkins officiating. Burial followed in Huse Memorial Park, Fayetteville.

Kyle Keith Kincaid
Kyle Keith Kincaid, 83, of Beckley, died Jan. 30, 2010, at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Beckley.
Born Jan. 2, 1927, at Kincaid, he was the son of the late Elmer R. and Beulah Anderson Kincaid. His son, Daniel K. Kincaid; brother, Harvey Kincaid; sisters, Irene Robertson and Dorcas Kincaid; and son-in-law, David O’Neal, also preceded him in death.
Kyle attended the Methodist church. He was a retired TV technician, having worked at John W. Eye in Beckley.
A World War II U.S. Navy veteran, he was a member of the American Legion and DAV and marched in the state funeral for President Franklin D. Roosevelt.
He worked at the Beckley VA Hospital in the 1950s and ‘60s, was a volunteer driver for 13 1/2 years and was a recipient of the Outstanding Merit Award from the Department of Veterans Affairs.
Surviving: wife, Drema Lyons Kincaid; daughter, Debra O’Neal of Beckley; brothers, Cecil Kincaid, Philip Ashley Kincaid, Jerry Kincaid and Elmer “Jr.” Kincaid; sisters, Bessie Parsons, Juanita Keller, Anita Tribble and Linda Berry; grandchildren, Jeremy Fitch and David O’Neal; and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be Thursday, Feb. 4 at 11 a.m. at Tyree Funeral Home in Oak Hill with Rev. Vondie Cook and Rev. David Messer officiating, followed by military rites conducted by VFW Post #3110 of Oak Hill. Burial will be at Kincaid Cemetery, Kincaid.
Friends may call one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the funeral home.

Audrey Mae McKinney
Audrey Mae McKinney, 78, of Scarbro, formerly of Sophia, died Jan. 31, 2010, at Select St. Francis Hospital in Charleston following an extended illness.
Arrangements are in the care of Blue Ridge Funeral Home, 5251 Robert C. Byrd Drive, Beckley.
Emitte Nelson McMillion
Emitte Nelson McMillion, 87, of Prince, died Jan. 28, 2010.
He was the son of the late James McMillion and Minnie Adkins McMillion. He also was preceded in death by his brother, Clarence McMillion; and daughter, Donna McMillion.
Emitte was a retired coal miner with 40 plus years of service. He was a devoted and loving husband of 65 years and a member of the Chestnut Knob Baptist Church. He was an outstanding father and grandpa. Emitte was loved very much by all and will be greatly missed.
Surviving: his loving wife, Virginia Belle McMillion; sister, Irene Gill of Stanaford; daughter, Janet Lynn Pugh of Pensacola, Fla.; daughter, Linda Gail Boley and husband Lawrence of Layland; daughter, Jennie Lee Rozell and husband Joe of Layland; grandchildren, James and Katie Lovelace, Joey and Amber Rozell, Christopher and April Rozell, Matthew and Melissa Fleshman, and Brian R. Boley; and his great-grandchildren, Lynsi, Derek, Kobe, Kaysi, Rachael, Kierston, Susan, and Keaton.
Services were Feb. 2 at Blue Ridge Funeral Home, Beckley, with Pastor Floyd Bolen officiating.
Burial followed at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.

Linda Gwen Middleton
Linda Gwen Middleton, 62, of Lucas Road, Victor, died Jan. 24, 2010, following a long illness.
Born Oct. 7, 1947, in Meadville, Pa., she was a daughter of the late Glenn Edward and Emma Jane Walters.
Linda was a homemaker, a loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother.
Surviving: her husband, John Arthur Middleton of Victor; twin daughters, Carla and Marla of Victor; a sister, Carol Newton and her husband, Douglas, of Idaho; aunts, Helen Snyder of Erie, Pa., and Agnus Blumerick of Buffalo, N.Y.; grandchildren, Ashtin, Angel and Amber; and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral service was Jan. 29 at Horseshoe Baptist Church in Ramsey, with Pastor Harold (Buzzy) Legg officiating. Burial followed at Middleton Cemetery in Victor.

James Woodville Neal
James Woodville Neal, 92, died Jan. 28, 2010, at Plateau Medical Center, Oak Hill, following a long illness.
James was cremated. There will not be any services.

John W. Nester
John W. Nester, 84, of Columbus, Ind., died Jan. 29, 2010, at Silver Oaks Health Campus.
Born Jan. 30, 1925, in Organ Cave, Mr. Nester was the son of the late John E. and Bertie Hilton Nester. He also was preceded in death by a son, John W. Nester Jr.; and two brothers and two sisters.
He married Mary E. Huffman June 17, 1944 in Minden.
Mr. Nester was retired from the Ford Plant in Connersville, where he was a press operator for 32 years, retiring in 1987. He also had worked in the coal mines in West Virginia for 15 years.
Surviving: his wife, Mary E. Huffman Nester of Columbus; son, Ron (Irene) Nester of Columbus; brothers, Hudd Nester of Ravenswood and Randall (Pauline) Nester of Connersville; sisters, Mary Aliteizer of Watkins, Ga., and Ruth (Mack) Smith of Mt. Airy, Md.; granddaughters, Melody (Brian) Thorpe and Angie (Lee) Naylor of Columbus; and great-grandchildren, Brianna and Bailey Thorpe, Dalton Carpenter and Cameron Naylor of Columbus.
The funeral was conducted Feb. 2 at Trinity Holiness Church in Edinburgh, with Rev. Jerome Baker officiating. Burial was at Flatrock Baptist Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the church or Hospice of South Central Indiana.

Dale Taylor Pritchard
Dale Taylor Pritchard, 49, of Shady Spring, died Jan. 26, 2010, at Appalachian Regional Hospital in Beckley.
Born Aug. 11, 1960, in New Haven, Conn., he was the son of Delores Underwood Pritchard of Douglas, Ga., and the late William Pritchard.
Surviving, in addition to his mother: a sister, Donna S. Cooper, also of Douglas.
Mr. Pritchard was cremated. There will be no visitation or service.

Nora Leigh Small
Nora Leigh Small, 81, of Lookout, died Jan. 26, 2010, at the home of Kenneth and Kathy Hayes.
Born in Quinnimont, on Dec. 12, 1928, she was the daughter of the late William Small and Nora McDaniel Small. She also was preceded in death by her sisters, Garnet Syner, Thelma Carte, Margaret Brown, Helen Strickland and Louise Ehrke; brothers, William Small Jr. and George Small; and a special companion, Charles Lair.
Nora Leigh is survived by a host of nephews and nieces.
Private services were held Jan. 28 for her family at Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home Chapel in Ansted, with Rev. Kenneth Hayes officiating. Entombment followed in The Chapel of Rest Mausoleum in Victor.

Eunice Irene Thompson
Eunice Irene Thompson, 85, of Mount Hope, died Jan. 26, 2010, at the Raleigh General Hospital in Beckley, following a short illness.
Born Feb. 21, 1924, at Lillybrook, she was the daughter of the late Bud and Ether Board Archer. She also was preceded in death by husbands, Walton Darlington and Fred Thompson.
Mrs. Thompson was a retired employee of Richmond Cleaners and Laundry with 50 years of service. Mrs. Thompson was a resident of Mount Hope since 1970. She enjoyed Bingo, and being in the company of her friends.
Surviving: her children, Diana Lynn Bone and her husband, David, of Beckley, and Larry Darlington and his wife, Pat, of Beckley; sisters, Freda Almond and her husband, Bill, of Beckley, and Hilda Smith and her husband, Raymond, of Coal City; grandchildren, Karen Lynn Aldridge and her husband, Michael, of Spring Hill, Tenn., and Shannon Frederick Kiser and his wife, Angie, of Orlando, Fla.; ,great-grandchildren, Hayden Christopher Aldridge, and Brandon Patrick Aldridge of Spring Hill, Tenn.; stepgranddaughter, Crystal Bone of Crab Orchard; stepgreat-grandchild, Hannah Brown of Neola; and several nephews.
Funeral services were Jan. 28 at the Rose and Quesenberry Peace Chapel in Beckley, with Pastor Larry Halsey officiating. Entombment followed at the Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, Beckley.

Helen Irene Turner
Helen Irene Turner, 91, of Beckley, died Jan. 27, 2010, at the Raleigh General Hospital in Beckley, after a short illness.
Born Sept. 19, 1919, at Gatewood, she was the daughter of the late George Cleveland McCallister and Ithea Harper McCallister. She also was preceded in death by brothers, Raymond, Hobert, Gilbert, Garland, and Elzie McCallister; sisters-in-law, Golda VanReenan McCallister, Bertha VanReenan McCallister, and Adrian Andreaux McCallister; and a nephew, Joseph Ray McCallister.
Mrs. Turner was a retired registered nurse at the Beckley VA Medical Center after 30 years of service. She was a graduate of Fayetteville High School and the Gallinger Hospital training for nursing, now the Washington D.C. General Hospital. She was a longtime member of the St. Mary’s United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Turner was a member of the June Thurman Sunday School Class, and the Faye Farley United Methodist Women’s Circle of the church. Mrs. Turner was a member of the National Association of Active and Retired Federal Employees. She was a Red Cross nurse and was a volunteer for the Red Cross for 25 years. Mrs. Turner also served in the U.S. Army during World War II, serving as a nurse. She had made Beckley her home since 1950.
Surviving: her daughter, Sharon Lee Turner of Beckley; sisters-in-law, Jan Daniels McCallister and Jane Peters McCallister of Columbus, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services were Feb. 1 at the Rose and Quesenberry Peace Chapel in Beckley, with Dr. Sharon Miller officiating. Burial followed at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Beckley.
