Larry Epperly

Larry Epperly, 77, of Elkhart, Ind., died April 17, 2012, at Riverside Village.

Larry was born Feb. 17, 1935, in Oak Hill, the son of the late Ervin Edgar and Maude Minnie (Martin) Epperly. Larry also was preceded in death by his brothers, Ervin Jr. and Jerry Epperly, and a sister, Loretta Legg.

Larry was a material supervisor for Ford, Dearborn, Mich., for 43 years.

Surviving: his wife, Sharon (Dunbar) Epperly, whom he married on Dec. 1, 1956; daughter, Dianne Pierce and her husband, Richard, of Wayne, Mich.; son, Michael Epperly and his wife, Betty, of Ada, Mich.; sisters, Polly McClung and her husband, Russell, of Fayetteville, Wandalene Shyblosky and her husband, Larry, of Lebanon, Tenn., Drema McClanahan and her husband, Wesley, of Oak Hill, and Kay Allen and her husband, Joe, of Fayetteville;  grandchildren, Doug Pierce, Joshua, Jacob, Rachel Epperly; and one great-grandchild, Maya Pierce.

A funeral service was held April 20 at Hartzler-Gutermuth-Inman Funeral Home, Elkhart, Ind., followed by a second funeral April 22 at High Lawn Funeral Home Chapel, Oak Hill. Burial followed in High Lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill.

The family asks that donations be given to the Alzheimer’s Association, 225 North Michigan Avenue, 17th Floor, Chicago, IL 60601.

Lacy A. Flint

Lacy A. Flint, 63, of Oak Hill, died April 17, 2012, at CAMC Memorial at Charleston.

Born Aug. 16, 1948, in Gatewood, he was the son of the late Charles Lacy and Cora Lee (Adkins) Flint.

Lacy was a graduate of Fayetteville High School and a retired coal miner.

Surviving: children, Stacey Elaine Treadway and her husband, Scott, of Fayetteville, and Lacy Aaron Flint and his wife, Jennifer, of Oak Hill; former wife and mother of his children, Norma Flint of Oak Hill; brothers, Donald Clifford Flint of Oak Hill, and Jonathan Noel Flint of Oak Hill; sister, Katherine Sue Flint England and her husband, Benjamin, of Beckley; and grandchildren, Scott “Scotty” Wayne Treadway Jr., Gabrielle Nicole Flint, Nikolas Jordon Treadway, Leighann Renee Flint, Triston Conner Treadway, and Emilee Faine Flint.

Funeral service was April 20 at High Lawn Funeral Home Chapel, Oak Hill, with Rev. Jackie Pittman officiating. Burial followed in High Lawn Memorial Park.
