Ray Douglas Arthur

Ray Douglas Arthur, of Palm Springs, Fla., formerly of Ansted, died Dec. 10, 2013.

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 5, at Restlawn Memorial Gardens.

Debra Lynne Green Bailey

Debra Lynne Green Bailey, 62, of Oak Hill, died June 26, 2014, at her residence after an extended illness.

Born Sept. 12, 1951, in Forth Worth, Texas, she was the daughter of the late Howard Ray and Geraldine Webster Green. She also was preceded in death by a daughter, China Amanda Green.

Debra was a retired science teacher with the Fayette County Board of Education, was a member of the Oak Hill United Methodist Church and a member of the Winolia Chapter #59 Order of the Eastern Star.

Surviving: her husband, Gary N. Bailey of Oak Hill; her sons, Texas C. Carroll and wife Kyle of Martinsburg, Earnest N.G. Bailey of Oak Ridge, N.C., Matthew M.L. Bailey of Oak Hill; grandchildren, Huxley Nicole Bailey, Harper Green Bailey and Ellis Gray Green, all of North Carolina; and her sister, Diane Moore of Harrison, Ohio.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 3, at the Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill, with Rev. David Sneed officiating.

Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to services on Thursday.

Lois Imogene Stover Brinson

Lois Imogene Stover Brinson, 81, of Craigsville, died June 3, 2014, at Cabell Huntington Hospital, Huntington.

Born May 21,1933, in Pax, she was the daughter of the late Macie Marie Gray Stover and Harold E. Stover. She also was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Glenn A. Brinson; son, Rodney Wayne Brinson; brothers, Kenneth “Tommy” Stover and Charles “Butch” Stover.

She was a homemaker, a mother and grandmother who dearly loved her family.

She worked for 26 years at Nicholas County Health Care Center and spent the last few years surrounded by her family and friends. She was full of joy and happiness for everyone around her. Her wit and charm made everyone love her, and she will be missed by those who knew her. She loved to laugh, tell stories, and entertain others.

Surviving: sons, Glenn A. Brinson and his wife, Terri, and Russell E. “Russ” Brinson and his wife, Goldie; daughters, Crystal E. and her husband, Nicholas, and Shyronica L. “Shonnie” Dodrill and her husband, Michael; sisters, Evelyn Joyce “Peggy” Stover Bianco, Shirley Gay Stover Massey and Sharon Stover VanBuren; and special sisters-in-law, Katherine “Kitty” Brinson, Charlotte Owens and Norma Jean Brinson.

A celebration of her life was held at the Cottle Church of God in Craigsville on June 21 with the Rev. Keith Williams officiating.
