Gary Randall Beaver

Gary Randall Beaver, 56, of Oak Hill, died June 4, 2013, at C.A.M.C. in Charleston.

Born June 22, 1956, in New Mexico, he was the son of the late Nathan Ray Beaver and Faye Ellen Jacobs Beaver. Gary also was preceded in death by a sister, Sherry Massie.

Gary was a devoted husband, father, and loved his grandchildren.

He loved to fish and hunt. He loved his church too. He was a member of the Harvey United Methodist Church where he served as deacon.

He was an outgoing person who never met a stranger.

Surviving: his wife of 34 years, Diane Gay (Griffith) Beaver; children, Connie Sue Blethen and Jeannette Lynn Pennington, both of Oak Hill; siblings, Lewis Beaver of Germany, Nathan Beaver of Ohio, Brenda Beaver Sexton and her husband, Donald, of Oak Hill, David Beaver of North Carolina, Carol Garrett and her husband, Edward, of Scarbro, Dennis Beaver and his wife, Renee, of Indiana, and Jerry Beaver of Scarbro; three grandchildren; special brother-in-law, Edward Garrett, who was his buddy in fishing, hunting, and the great outdoors; and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Funeral service was June 6 at High Lawn Funeral Home Chapel, Oak Hill, with Pastor Connie Holly and Rev. Carlos Lewis officiating. Burial followed in High Lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill.

Jean Clayton

Mrs. Jean Clayton, of Zanesville, Ohio, formerly of Hilltop, died June 4, 2013.

Funeral service was June 9 at Ritchie & Johnson Funeral Parlor Chapel, Beckley, with Elder Stanley Blanks officiating. Burial followed in the family cemetery in Hilltop.

Tony Allen Elswick

Tony Allen Elswick, 53, of Mount Hope, died June 3, 2013, at Appalachian Regional Hospital in Beckley.

Born Oct. 5, 1959, at Summersville, he was the son of the late Donald and Geraldine Woods Elswick. Three brothers, William “Willie” Elswick, Calvin D. Elswick, and Joseph Michael Elswick, and two sisters, Rebecca Craddock and Kimberly Wilburn, also preceded him in death.

He worked in maintenance and home construction.

Surviving: daughters, Amanda Evans and Heather Jones, both of Mount Hope; son, Patrick Elswick and wife Caitline of Beckley; sisters, Madeline Jackson and husband Buford of Price Hill, and Tina Suttle and husband, Michael of Harvey; six grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service was June 8 at Tyree Funeral Home in Mount Hope. Burial was at Elswick Cemetery in Clay County.
