Donald Counts

Donald Counts, 67, of Meadow Bridge, died March 2, 2012, at Greenbrier Valley Medical Center, Ronceverte, following a long illness.

Born May 14, 1944, at Crawley, he was the son of Virginia G. Murphy Counts of Smoot and the late Ballard W. Counts. In addition to his father, he was also preceded in death by an infant sister and a great-granddaughter, Bella Counts.

Donald was a U.S. Army Veteran, having served in Vietnam.

He worked as a coal miner and a mechanic.

Surviving: his wife, Juanita Louise Lowe Counts; daughters, Gwen Webb (Terry), Lisa Harmon (Neal), and Donna Angle (Kenny); sons, Dwight Counts (Karen), Charlie Counts (Tammy), and John Counts (Sonjia); sister, Carolyn Browning (Russ), and sons Jason and Jared; brother, Glen Counts (Sue), and son, Ricky; grandchildren, Jennifer Counts (Vince) and Amber Counts, Wesley and Ashton Webb, Heather Erickson, Hailey, Elijah, and Sasha Counts, Andrew and Ava Angle; and great-grandson, Trey Erickson.

Services were March 6 at Wallace & Wallace Chapel of Rainelle with Pastor Jay Talbott officiating. Burial followed at Wallace Memorial Cemetery, Clintonville.

Clifton West Daniels

Clifton West Daniels, 83, of Oak Hill, died March 4, 2012.

Nora Ann Persinger Dooley

Nora Ann Persinger Dooley, 73, of Oak Hill, died Feb. 28, 2012, at Plateau Medical Center in Oak Hill.

Born July 14, 1938, at Crab Orchard, she was the daughter of the late Richard and Mary Evelyn Pennington Persinger. Four brothers and one sister also preceded her in death.

She was a homemaker.

Mrs. Dooley was a member of the Oak Hill Church of the Nazarene.

Surviving: her husband, Jerry Lee Dooley; sons, Kenneth Bowyer of Oak Hill, Jack Bowyer and wife Christy of Hico, Frank Bowyer of Charlotte, N.C., and Jerry Dooley Jr. and wife Jodi of Mannington; daughters, Nancy Higginbotham and husband Eddie of Scarbro, and Ronnie Cogar and husband Bob of Fairmont; brother, James Persinger and wife Kay of Oak Hill; sisters, Ruth Freeman of Dublin, Ga., Connie Edwards of Oak Hill and Barbara Lavender of Fayetteville; and 17 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.

Funeral services were March 2 at the Oak Hill Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Jerry Bush and Pastor Dave Edwards officiating. Burial was at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Prosperity.
