Linda Turner Brooks

Linda Turner Brooks, 53, of Summerlee, died April 11, 2013, at Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital, Weston.

Born June 15, 1959, at Detroit, Mich., she was the daughter of the late Aaron Bruce and Betty Pierce Brooks.

She also was preceded in death by her ex-husband, William “Tic” Turner; daughter, Tina Lynn Turner; sisters, Marie Buckland, Brenda Maynor, and Sharon Legg; and brothers, Lloyd Brooks and John Brooks.

Linda was a loving daughter, mother, and grandmother. She will always live in our hearts.

Surviving: her daughter, Megan Burton and her husband, Alan; stepson, Jacob Legg; grandchildren, Amalynn Paige Watters and Dustin Seth Watters; aunt, Carolyn Lambert; many nieces and nephews; special friends, Gary “Hippi” Agee, Teresa Young, and Jill Weeks; and many to whom she was like a mom.

In keeping with her wishes, she will be cremated and a memorial service will be held at a later date.

Walter Clyde Clay

Walter Clyde Clay, 77, of Yorktown, Va., formerly of Meadow Bridge, died April 8, 2013, with his loving family by his side.

Walter was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur Bryan Clay and Anona Walkup Clay.

He was originally from West Virginia, and had lived the past 34 years in Virginia.

Walter retired after 26 years of Civil Service work and was an Air Force veteran. Walter’s true love in his life was his family.

Surviving: his loving wife of 55 years, Elta Richardson Clay; daughters, Rebecca Clay Hovorka (Tom), Deborah Clay Anderson and fiancé Dwayne Ball, Terri Clay Moore (Henry), Belinda Clay Trombetta (Nick), Crystal Clay Phillips (Scott); grandchildren; Rachel, Holly, Cristy, Joey, Michelle, Clay, Sean, Nichole, Van, and Breanna; four great-grandchildren; brothers, Ray Clay (Vada), and A.B. “Poochie” Clay; sister, Phyllis Spade; sisters-in-law, Mary Sue Smith and Rose Casey (C.B.); and brothers-in-law, Ken Richardson (Rosie), Ray Richardson (Marie), Norman Richardson, and Ronald Richardson.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at High Lawn Funeral Home Chapel, Oak Hill. The funeral will be at High Lawn at 11 a.m. Saturday with Rev. Michael Whisman officiating.

Burial will follow in High Lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill, with military rites conducted by Oak Hill V.F.W. Post 3110.
