Michael Wayne ‘Mooky’ Fleshman

Michael Wayne “Mooky” Fleshman, 47, of Minden, died March 17, 2012, at his home.

Born March 31, 1964, at Oak Hill, he was the son of Barbara Sanger Fleshman of Minden, and the late William Edward Fleshman Sr. A brother, James Lewis “Shorty” Fleshman, preceded him in death on Aug. 19, 2011.

He had worked in the building construction/air conditioning and heating businesses.

Surviving, in addition to his mother: his wife, Rita Bickford Fleshman; sons, Michael W. Fleshman Jr. and Brad Fleshman, both of Charlotte, N.C.; stepsons, Michael Dougan, Raymond Bickley, and Robert Bickley, all of Oak Hill; stepdaughters, Ryan Cook, Rebecca Bickley, and Rae Marie Bickley, all of Oak Hill; sister, Bonita Donlow of Minden; brothers, David Fleshman, William E. Fleshman Jr., Matthew Fleshman, and Randy Fleshman, all of Minden, and Danny Ray Fleshman of Hilltop; three stepgrandchildren and 34 nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were March 23 at Tyree Funeral Home in Oak Hill with Rev. Henry Hudson officiating. Mr. Fleshman was cremated following the service.

Vanessa Washington Grasty

Ms. Vanessa Washington Grasty, 52, of Mount Hope, died March 21, 2012.

Doris Agnes Jackson

Doris Agnes Jackson, 79, of Smithers, died March 20, 2012, at home.

She was born April 27, 1932, in London. She was preceded in death by her mother, Margaret Dunlap Tucker; her husband, B.C. Jackson; and her sister, Janice Williams. 

She was a former employee of GC Murphy in Montgomery and a former representative for both Tupperware and Yellow Ribbons.

She formerly worked at the Senior Citizens Center in Smithers and she was a member of the Campbell Memorial Baptist Church in Smithers. 

Surviving: sons, Barton Jackson Jr. and his wife, Karen, of Kimberly, and Shannon Jackson and his wife, Lisa, of Summersville; grandchildren, Stephanie Jackson, Cris Walker, Cassie Jackson, Philip Jackson and Adam Jackson; and great-grandchildren, Nikki McCarthy, Skyler Murphy and Haley Murphy.

Service was March 23 at O’Dell Funeral Home, Montgomery, with Rev. Wallace York officiating. Burial followed in Kanawha Valley Memorial Gardens in Glasgow.
