Everette ‘Eddie’ Blake

Everette “Eddie” Blake, 52, of Fayetteville, died July 2, 2013.

Born July 31, 1960, in St. Louis, Mo., he was the son of Harold and Callie Hedrick Blake of Fayetteville.

He was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Cecil Gibson, and niece, Carrie Myles.

Eddie was an ordained deacon of Fayetteville Baptist Church and served on the Board of Fellowship of Christian Athletes. He graduated from Fayetteville High School.

He was a former employee for Pepsi and Dr. Pepper, worked as retail manager for Little General Food Stores; was owner/operator of Blake Real Estate Development, owner/operator of Lochgelly Mulch and Stone, owner/operator of the “Custard Stand” at Oak Hill and Sam’s Hot Dog Stand at Malden.    

Eddie enjoyed spending time with his family, friends, and working in the church.    

Surviving, in addition to his parents: his devoted wife, Stella Blake of Fayetteville; children, Matt (Lyndsey) Diederich of Oak Hill, Tyler Blake of Fayetteville, and Tiffany Blake of Jacksonville, Fla.; grandson and the joy of his life, Jace Diederich of Oak Hill; brother, Butch (Debbie) Blake of Oak Hill; sisters, Belinda (Jake) Jacobowski of Oak Hill, Denise (Jim) Light of Fayetteville, Debbie Hendrick of Oak Hill, Tammy (Tim) Haynie of Athens, Myra Blake of Athens and Rhonda (Tommy) Church of Bluefield; mother-in-law, Maxine Gibson; and a host of family and friends.

Funeral services were July 6 at Fayetteville Baptist Church with Pastor Ron George Jr. officiating. Burial followed at Huse Memorial Park, Fayetteville.

Irma Goins Bourgoin, 89, of Oak Hill, formerly of Beckley, died at Bowers Hospice House July 8, 2013.
