Betty Ann Colaiseno
Betty Ann Colaiseno, 78, of Mount Hope, died Aug. 4, 2012, at the Bowers Hospice House, Beckley, following a short illness.
Mrs. Colaiseno was born in Sun on Aug. 21, 1933, and lived most of her life in Mount Hope. She was the fifth child of three sisters and two brothers. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, and sisters, her husband, James Junior Colaiseno; great-grandson, Joseph Hosler Jr.; and son-in-law, Gary Craigo.
Mrs. Colaiseno was a homemaker and was a member of the Assembly of God in Mount Hope for many years.
An excellent mother, a wonderful grandmother, and will be sadly missed by many family and friends.
Surviving: brother, Donald Smith of Huntington; daughters and son, Almeda Smith and Mary Shaffer, both of Mount Hope, James Colaiseno and wife Elaine of Oak Hill, Patricia Craigo of Mount Hope, Carol and husband Mickey Barclay of Crab Orchard, Angeline and husband Ernie Walker of Raleigh, N.C., Nellie and husband John Roberts, and Donna and husband Patrick Bailey, all of Beckley, Lana and husband Tony Rust of Bristol, Tenn., Brenda and husband Keith Runyon of Crab Orchard; 21 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandson.
Funeral services were Aug. 7 at Tyree Funeral Home, Mount Hope, with Pastor Tom Lilly officiating. Burial was at Sunset Memorial Park, Beckley.

Emmett Ray Farley
Emmett Ray Farley, 69, of the Hilltop Nursing Home at Glen Jean, died July 30, 2012, following a long illness.
Born Feb. 15, 1943, at Ellison, he was the son of the late Emmett L. Farley and late Lottie Cox Farley. He also was preceded in death by his only brother, James E. Farley.
Mr. Farley was a member of the Hillcrest Baptist Church in Mabscott.
Surviving: sisters, Lura and her husband, Ron Frye, of Mabscott, with whom Emmett had made his home for many years, and Glenna Mooney and husband Thomas of Coal City; sister-in-law, Helen Jefferies of Sophia, and a special sister-in-law, Cindy Wright and husband Gary of Bassett, Va., who gave Emmett many days and weeks of joy and the gift of love, compassion and caretaking; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncle and many friends including the patients and staff at the White Sulphur Springs Nursing Center in White Sulphur Springs.
Funeral services were Aug. 2, at Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel in Hinton with the Pastor Wayne Bolen officiating. Burial followed in the Josiah Lilly Cemetery at Ellison.
