William Doug ‘Toby’ Walker
William Doug “Toby” Walker, 69, of Maple Fork, died Aug. 4, 2012, at Raleigh General Hospital.
Born April 6, 1943, in Peach Tree, he was the son of the late James Walker and Dora Hendrix Walker. He also was preceded in death by a grandson, Larry Edward Miller II; brothers, Harford and Jeffrey D. Walker; and a sister, Margaret Tackett.
Doug had a passion for restoring old cars and loved to just hang out at Lewis Chevrolet in Beckley. He just enjoyed people watching and loved to mingle in the public setting.
He was also a member of Crow Baptist Church.
Surviving: his wife, Karen Walker, at home; son, Jerimiah Walker and wife Shelli of Georgia; daughters, Selena Miller and husband Ed of Winfield, and Candy Hurd and husband Mike of Mount Hope; brother, Kenneth Walker; sisters, Phyllis Surratt, Shirley Rogers, Ellen O’Dell, and Carolyn Walker; and grandchildren, Matthew Miller, Kyle and Katie Hurd, and Madison Walker.
In keeping with Doug’s wishes he was cremated.
Services were held Aug. 5, at Crow Baptist Church.

Thomas Lee Walters, 64, of Roanoke, Va., died July 30, 2012.
The funeral was held Aug. 2 at High Lawn Funeral Home Chapel, Oak Hill, with burial following in High Lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill.

William ‘Chuck’ Charles Washburn
William “Chuck” Charles Washburn, 56, of Oak Hill, died Aug. 2, 2012, at Raleigh General Hospital in Beckley.
Born July 4, 1956, at Painesville, Ohio, he was the son of the late Gerald Keith and Patricia Ann Perkins Washburn. A sister, Tina Marie Washburn Motley, also preceded him in death.
Mr. Washburn was a founding member of the Grace Baptist Church in Fayetteville where he served as a trustee and Sunday school superintendent.
He was a 1974 graduate of Collins High School in Oak Hill and a member of the Lions Club.
Chuck was an ASE Master Automotive Technician for Ramey Ford in Beckley. He was the former owner/operator of Value Tech in Oak Hill for 11 years.
Surviving: his wife, Yvonne Kay Lilly Washburn; son, Zachariah Charles Washburn and fiancee Heather Quesenberry of Oak Hill; daughters, Elisabeth Faith Washburn Hess and husband Tom, and Priscilla Ann Washburn Griffith and husband Matt, all of Oak Hill; grandchildren, Sophia Rose Griffith and Jackson Paul Hess; a sister, Katharine Sue Washburn Cales and husband Matt of Oak Hill; mother-in-law, Rosenell “Tootsie” Lilly of White Oak; brothers-in-law, Elijah Lilly, and William “Willy” Lilly and wife Sherri, all of White Oak; sister-in-law, Sarah Lilly Harvey and husband David of White Oak; three nieces, six nephews, four great-nieces and three great-nephews as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral services were Aug. 6 at Grace Baptist Church in Fayetteville with Pastor Delbert Walker officiating. Burial was at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Prosperity.
The family requests memorial contributions be made to the Gymnasium Building Fund, Grace Baptist Church, PO Box 336, Fayetteville, WV 25840.
