Jonathan Lee Bibb

Jonathan Lee Bibb, 18, of Oak Hill, died Aug. 6, 2013, at CAMC Memorial Division from injuries received in a vehicle accident.

Born April 21, 1995, at Beckley, he was the son of Michael Ray Bibb Sr. of Oak Hill and the late Sherry Lee Buckland Bibb Greene. Jonathan also was preceded in death by his stepfather, Donnie Greene; his grandfather, John A. Bibb Jr.; and his grandmother, Rose M. Buckland.

He would have been a senior this fall (2013-2014) at Oak Hill High School, where he was a member of the JROTC from 2009 to 2012 and the ROTC from 2012 to 2013.

He attended the Dothan Baptist Church.

He enjoyed four-wheeling, fishing, and hunting.

Surviving: his father, Michael Ray Bibb Sr., and his stepmother, Rhonda Adams of Oak Hill; his brothers and sisters, Michael Ray Bibb Jr. of Oak Hill, Levi Fenton of Page, Emily Bibb of Pineville, and Haley Bibb of Maple Fork; his grandmother, Debbie L. Bibb of Oak Hill; his grandfather, Lee Buckland of Scarbro, and his step grandmother, Judy Buckland of Scarbro.

Funeral service was Aug. 12 at High Lawn Funeral Home Chapel, Oak Hill, with Pastor Robert Morey officiating. Burial followed in High Lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill.

Piney Belle Corum

Piney Belle Corum, 82, of Victor, died Aug. 7, 2013, following an extended illness.

Born Sept. 21, 1930, at Victor, she was the daughter of the late Able Andrew and Rebecca Georgia Bryant Taylor. She also was preceded in death by her sisters, Ruth Eastman, Lilly Holden, Arledia McQuire and Iva Neal; and brothers, Cebert, William and Howard Taylor.

Piney was a member of the Good Hope Missionary Baptist Church, Graydon.

She was a homemaker, and raised four children.

Surviving: her daughters, Brenda Comer and her husband, Tom, of Victor and Linda Browning and her husband, Leonard, of Hico; sons, Danny Corum of Victor and David Corum and his wife, Karen, of Ansted; brother, Clarence Taylor and his wife, Veronica, of Victor; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were Aug. 11 at the Good Hope Missionary Baptist Church at Graydon with Pastor Mike Skaggs officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
