Virginia Mary Elliott Bragg

Virginia Mary Elliott Bragg, 66, of Russellville Road, Ansted, died at the Bowers Hospice House, Beckley on March 11, 2014.

She was the daughter of the late Arval Lee and Lorna Mary Tresa Hoar Elliott.

She was a retired waitress at Gino’s and was a member of the Ansted Baptist Church of Ansted.

Surviving: her husband, William (Pat) Bragg; daughter, Dawn Ellison and her husband, Cary, of Edmond; grandchildren, Halee, Gus, Eli and Alex; great-grandchildren, Zoe and Trace; sisters, Brenda Harrell of Lookout, Deborah Elliott of Montgomery and Roma Elliott of West Palm Beach, Fla.; and brothers, Lee Elliott of Victor and Phillip Elliott of Montgomery.

Funeral services were held March 14 at the Ansted Baptist Church of Ansted, with Preacher Jack Eades officiating. Burial followed at Restlawn Memory Gardens, Victor.

Mark Hayes Caldwell

Mark Hayes Caldwell, 63, of Fayetteville, died March 10, 2014.

Born Feb. 8, 1951, at Oak Hill, he was the son of the late Delancey and Hope Ballard Caldwell.

Mr. Caldwell was a member of Mountain View Church of God at Hilltop. He played bass guitar in the band.

He retired from teaching after 30 years in the Fayette County School System and was a past member of Fayetteville Town Council. 

Surviving: his wife, Jacqueline Morton Caldwell of Fayetteville; son, Wesley Hayes Caldwell and wife Jodie of Roanoke, Va.; sister, Ann Sheehan and husband Ronald of Fayetteville; nephews, Lee Sheehan of Fayetteville and James Sheehan and wife Angel of Oak Hill; great-nephews, James Sheehan, Ashton Sheehan, and Max Sheehan; and father and mother-in-law, Kencil and Johnotheen Morton. 

Funeral services were held March 14 at Mt. View Church of God, Hilltop, with Rev. Rudell Bloomfield officiating. Entombment followed at Huse Memorial Park and Mausoleum, Fayetteville.
