Jake White

Jake White, 77, of Hico, died March 19, 2014.

Born Feb. 25, 1937, he was the son of the late Howard Elliott and Mary Retta Strickland White. He also was preceded in death by a sister, Shirley Flanagan.

He was a member of the Liberty Baptist Church of Hico and was in the coal industry.

After retiring from the mines he did what he always loved the most, became a tiller of the land, a farmer. He planted and harvested, cut hay and put it away, raised cattle in his fields, and farm raised his family and grandchildren. Then one night at a hospital he accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior. This man of hard work, a husband, father, brother, grandfather, this man was a true farmer.

Surviving: his wife of 56 years of marriage, Helen White of Hico; brothers, Jeff White of Tennessee and Jack White and wife Virginia of Hico; sister-n-law, Yvonne Bergelow of North Carolina; daughters, Debbie Critchley and husband Joe of Danese and Kim Coppa of Hico; sons, Jake White Jr. and wife Alice, Steve White and wife Josette, Chris White and wife Joy and Mike White and wife Crystal, all of Hico; 12 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Services were March 23 at Wallace and Wallace of Ansted with the Rev. Danny Legg officiating. Burial followed at the White Cemetery on Sunday Road in Hico.

Donna Rae ‘Donnie’ Wiggins

Donna Rae “Donnie” Wiggins, 53, of Fairmont, died March 24, 2014, at United Hospital Center in Bridgeport.

Born Oct. 3, 1960, at Oak Hill, she was the daughter of Alvin Ray and Mary “Kate” Couch Wiggins of Bridgeport.

Donnie left an impression on the people she met where ever she went. She was a special person, blessed with strength and determination. Her passing has left a hole in our hearts.

Surviving, in addition to her devoted parents: her big sis, Bev Lopez and husband John of Bridgeport; her little brother, Chad Wiggins and wife Kristy of Cincinnati, Ohio; nephew, Ben Lopez and wife Lauren of Columbus, Ohio; niece, Ali Frush and husband Mike of Fairmont; and many aunts, uncles, friends and caregivers.

Funeral services will be on Thursday, March 27 at 1 p.m. at Tyree Funeral Home in Oak Hill, with Rev. Mackie Million officiating. Burial will be at High Lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill.
