Aline Faye Sizemore Shrewsberry

Aline Faye Sizemore Shrewsberry, 90, of Fayetteville, died March 18, 2013, at Plateau Medical Center in Oak Hill.

Born March 2, 1923, at Corinne, she was the daughter of the late Charles H. and Rosie Gay Blankenship Sizemore. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Estel Shrewsberry; sons, William Talbert, Timothy, Edward and Drewie Paul; sons-in-law, J.B. Repass and Bill Sizemore; and daughter-in-law and caregiver, Mary Shrewsberry.

Mrs. Shrewsberry was a member of the New River Baptist Church, Fayetteville.

Aline was the matriarch of a large, loving family and was truly an angel here on earth. She always saw the best in everyone and held her family and friends close to her heart.

Aline enjoyed sewing, quilting, gardening, canning, reading the Bible, and working puzzle books. Aline enjoyed most serving the Lord and spending time with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Surviving: daughter, Phyllis Repass of Scarbro; daughter, Faye Sizemore of Princeton; son, Leon Shrewsberry and wife Rita of Fayetteville; son, Byron Shrewsberry and wife Linda of Lebanon, Tenn.; son, Jerry “Jake” Shrewsberry of Scarbro; daughter, Evie Perkins and husband James of Fayetteville; daughter, Sylvia Davidson of Wytheville, Va.; daughter, Donna Milam and husband John of Scarbro; daughter, Cynthia England of Oak Hill; son, Terry Shrewsberry and wife Julia of Inwood; 54 grandchildren; 98 great-grandchildren; 24 great-great-grandchildren; and sisters, Willie Mae Haynes of Princeton, Georgia Shrewsberry of Sand Gap and Rosie Sizemore of Pineville.

Funeral services were March 22 at Tyree Funeral Home in Oak Hill with James Perkins and Pastor George Secrist officiating. Burial was at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Prosperity.

Franklin John Thewes

Franklin John Thewes, 79, of Oak Hill, died March 22, 2013.

Funeral services were March 25 at the Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill, with Father Paul Yuenger officiating. Burial followed in Gethsemane Memorial Gardens, Pea Ridge Road, Oak Hill.
