Stella Josephine ‘Jo’ Clower Blake
Stella Josephine “Jo” Clower Blake, 82, of Oak Hill, died April 7, 2013.
Born May 10, 1930, at Fayetteville, she was the daughter of the late Lewis H. and Pearl E. Clower. Her husband, Samuel E. “Sam” Blake; brothers, Bernie and Archie Clower; and sisters, Mary Simpkins, Minnie Aliff and Margaret Christian, also preceded her in death.
Jo was a retired Food Services Director for Fayette County Board of Education.
She was a member of the Oak Hill United Methodist Church and a later member of the Avon Park United Methodist Church.
Surviving: son, John Blake and wife June of Oak Hill; daughter, Debra Welsh and husband Patrick of Jacksonville, Fla.; sisters, Mildred Clower of St. Albans, Virginia McDaniel of Avon Park, Fla., Cam Simpkins of Chewelah, Wash., and Meta Evans of West End, N.C.; six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Graveside rites and committal services will be on Thursday, April 11, at 11 a.m. at High Lawn Memorial Park in Oak Hill, with Rev. Ralph Shupe officiating. Burial will follow.
There will be no visitation.

Mrs. Clara Davis Blakey, 74, of Detroit, Mich., formerly of Ansted, died March 29, 2013.

Russell Conrad, 52, of Craigsville, died April 6, 2013, following a long illness.
Russell was born June 1, 1960, in Whitmer, the son of the late Henry Everette Conrad and Alice Blanche Sharp Conrad. He also was preceded in death by his brothers, James Alford Conrad and Everette Eugene Conrad, and his maternal grandparents, Dexter and Rosa E. Sharp..
Russell attended the Apostolic Pentecostal Church of Jesus Christ at Canvas.
Surviving: his foster parents, Lee and Carolyn Evans of Craigsville; sisters, Gaytha Pearl Wilson, Rosalee Snead and Rodney, Mamie Sue Brown, Susie Davis, Kimberly Sue Bennett and Larry, Junior Henry Conrad; foster sisters, Jessica and C.J. Dorsey and Tracy Tincher; foster brothers; Jeff and Tracy Evans, Shawn and Charlotte Evans, Brian Evans, Nick and Brittany Evans, Josh and Beverly Evans, Joe and Mallory Evans , and Shane Evans; and a host of nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral service was April 10 at the Mausoleum of West Virginia Memorial Gardens in Calvin with Rev. Jarrod Price, Rev. Anthony Moss and Rev. Arliss Smith officiating. Burial followed in the West Virginia Memorial Gardens.
