Vickie Lynn Cole

Vickie Lynn Cole, 57, of Scarbro, died April 11, 2012.

In keeping with her wishes the body was cremated.

Betty Lou Duncan Cook

Betty Lou Duncan Cook, 81, of Oak Hill, died April 14, 2012, at Bowers Hospice House in Beckley.

Born Jan. 12, 1931, in Oak Hill, she was the daughter of the late Russell Glen and Nellie Edith Johnson Duncan. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Preston Monroe Cook, in 1982; brother, William Glen; and sister, Edith Faye.

Mrs. Cook was a homemaker and loved to quilt, read and garden.

Surviving: her daughters, Shirlene Hooper and husband Douglas of Stumpy Point, N.C., Linda Sue Burnham and husband Calvin of Cypress, Texas, and Diane Kilpatrick of Nashville, Tenn.; sisters, Phyllis Goldfein of Chicago, Ill., and Norma Jean Gray of Stumpy Point, N.C.; åçgrandchildren, Kelly, Heather, Jason, Meagan, Adam, Emily and Patrick; and great-grandchildren, Darren, Halley and Peyton.

Services were April 17 in the mausoleum at Huse Memorial Park, Fayetteville, with her grandson, Adam Burnham, officiating.

Violet Derossett, 86, of Oak Hill, died April 12, 2012, at Plateau Medical Center.

Lucille J. Dufour

Lucille J. Dufour, 77, of Ansted, died April 15, 2012, following a long illness.

Born April 16, 1935, in Ansted, she was the daughter of the late Howard Potter and Lena Jane Hudnall Dufour. Her husband, Charles M. Dufour Jr., preceded her in death on Jan. 1, 2008.

Lucille was a homemaker and a member of Ansted Baptist Church.

Surviving: daughters, Ada Kathryn Morton and Janice M. Taylor; son, Charles Howard Dufour; sister, H. Deen Drennen; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were April 17 at Wallace and Wallace Funeral Home Chapel in Ansted with Pastor Wade Samples officiating. Burial followed in Restlawn Memory Gardens in Victor.
