Elsie L. Evans

Elsie L. Evans, 87, of Maple Fork, died April 12, 2012.

Born May 26, 1924, she was the daughter of the late LP and Alice Wayne McGuire. Elsie also was preceded in death by her loving husband, Ira Jefferson Evans; grandsons, Gary Lee Huddleston and Ira Shannon Evans; 4 sisters and 3 brothers.

Elise loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed raising a garden, canning and planting flowers. Elsie attended the Cranberry Baptist Church.

Surviving: her children, Barbara Moore and husband Johnnie, Connie Sexton and husband Russell, and Reva Huddleston and husband Lee, all of Maple Fork, Judy Lucas of Sand Branch, and Ira Wesley Evans and wife Patricia Ann of Archdale, N.C.; grandchildren, Steven Moore, Wendy Withrow and husband John, and Teresa Louise Hughes and companion Mike Hill, all of Maple Fork, Michelle Dixon of Sand Branch, Vickie Jo Ball and husband Alan of Hilltop, Arnold L. Lucas and wife Cheri of Parma, Ohio, Angelique Wilson and husband Roger of Jacksonville, Fla., Bobbi Glass and husband Doug of Trinity, N.C., and Jodi Evans and companion Randy Yoakum of North Carolina; 16 great-grandchildren; brother, Kyle McGuire of Christiansburg, Va.; special friends whom she considered like daughters, Sue Nunn Walker and husband Brent and Diane Barr and husband Ron; her best friend, Ruth Keller; and a host of nieces, nephews and beloved friends.

A celebration of Elsie’s life was held April 16 at Blue Ridge Funeral Home, Beckley, with Pastor Steve Davis officiating. Burial followed at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.

Tresa Elizabeth Fowler

Tresa Elizabeth Fowler, 75, of Fayetteville, died April 12, 2012.

Graveside services were April 16 at Huse Memorial Park, Fayetteville, with Pastor Bobby Adkins officiating.
