Oretha Lea ‘Hart’ Wilson

Oretha Lea “Hart” Wilson, 85, of Ansted, died April 12, 2012, following a long illness.

Born Sept. 14, 1926, in Ansted, she was the daughter of the late Chalmer Skaggs and Ida Mae Withrow Skaggs. She also was preceded in death by a sister, Oretta Skaggs, and brothers, Cecil Skaggs and William (Big Bill) Skaggs.

Hart was a member of Ansted Baptist Church and a homemaker.

Surviving: daughters, Carolyn (Becky) Clackler of Ansted and Kathy Pinkston of Bruceton, Tenn.; sons, Larry Wilson, of Orrville, Ohio, and James Wilson of Kennersville, N.C.; a brother, Chalmers Van Skaggs of McKinney, Texas; 11 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were April 15 at Ansted Baptist Church in Ansted with the pastor, Dr. Jack Eades, officiating. Burial followed in Restlawn Memory Gardens in Victor.

Regis Eugene Woolwine

Regis Eugene Woolwine, 90, of Jackson, Mich., formerly of Wriston, died April 15, 2012, at Veterans Administration Hospital in Ann Arbor, Mich.

Born July 23, 1921, at Lick Fork, he was the son of the late Seth Thomas and Bessie V. Light Woolwine. Sisters Nora Bragg and Anna Pennington and brothers Clyde Woolwine and Everett Woolwine also preceded him in death.

He retired from King Coal Chevrolet in Oak Hill.

Mr. Woolwine attended the Cranberry Community Church of Prosperity and was a World War II U.S. Army veteran.

Surviving: brother, Archie Woolwine of Jackson, Mich.; sister, Helen Gibson of Oak Hill; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Friday, April 20, at 11 a.m. at Tyree Funeral Home in Oak Hill. Burial will be at Woolwine Cemetery, Wriston.

Friends may call one hour prior to the service on Friday at the funeral home.
