Elsie L. Lane

Elsie L. Lane, 99, of Russellville, died April 1, 2012, at Ansted Center in Ansted, following a short illness.

She had previously made her home with Bill and Martha Lane of Russellville.

Born Feb. 25, 1913, in Fayette County, she was a daughter of the late Robert Allen and Lilly Morton Goddard Fox. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Moses Lane, in 1972; sons, Phil “Crockett” Lane and Bobby Darrell Lane; daughters, Macy Maxine Cox, Dora D. Bragg, and Delia “Susie” Kinder; six brothers, and seven sisters.

Elsie was a homemaker, and of the Baptist faith.

Surviving: a son, William Carol Lane of Beckley; a daughter, Robin Canaday of Crab Orchard; numerous grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.

Service was April 4 at Wallace & Wallace Chapel in Rainelle, with the Rev. Fred Lovell officiating. Burial followed in the Martin Cemetery, Crickmer (Danese).

Eloise Virginia Merritt

Eloise Virginia Merritt, 85, of Fayetteville, formerly of Lorado, died March 28, 2012.

Funeral services were April 3 at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home Chapel at Man with Rev. Johnny Hatfield officiating.  Entombment followed in Highland Memory Gardens Mausoleum at Godby.

Debra Jane Mickey

Debra Jane Mickey, 55, of Beckley, died March 26, 2012, in her home on Hargrove Street, following a short illness due to C.O.P.D. and sleep apnea.

Born July 28, 1957, she was the daughter of the late Herbert Lee Gill and Lillian Virginia Gill. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Anthony Mickey; brother, Bobby Coffman Gill; and sister-in-law, Kaye Gill.

She loved helping people and was a great inspiration to many people. She shared her great love with everyone and would never turn anyone away in their time of need.

Surviving: brothers, Larry Gill of Minden, Ricky Gill of Oak Hill, Herbert Lee Gill Jr. of Scarbro, and Johnny Gill of Charleston, and their wives; her children, Michelle Simmons of Beckley, Daniel Kincaid Jr. of Wyco, and Rebecca Roche of Charleston, and their spouses; her grandchildren, Daniel, Christina, Andrew, Jessica, and baby Kendrick; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews and a host of close relatives and friends.

The funeral service was held March 31 at the Gospel Lighthouse Church, Fayetteville, with Pastor Marvin Hairston officiating.
