Dorothy Lee Wolfe Cale

Dorothy Lee Wolfe Cale, 82, of Bloomington, Ind., formerly of Kincaid, died March 4, 2006.

Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday, March 9 at the Tyree Funeral Home Chapel, Oak Hill.

Una Elizabeth McClung Carte

Una Elizabeth McClung Carte, 91, of Hico, died March 3, 2006, following a long illness.

Born Feb. 9, 1915, in Hell’s Half Acre, Danese, she was the daughter of the late C.H. McClung and Maggie Critchley McClung. She also was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. T.W. “Chick” Carte, in 1990; a daughter, Linda Willis; sons, James H. Carte and Larry Lee Carte; a special son, Gary Osborne; two sisters; and five brothers.

Una was a member of Mount Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church of Mount Lookout and she attended Keeneys Creek Baptist Church of Winona. She was a homemaker.

Surviving: a daughter, Carman A. Coleman of Hico; sons, Tommy F. and Barbara Carte of Hico and Johnny T. and Marla Carte of Hico; 14 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

Service was march 7 at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church, Mount Lookout, with the Revs. Joe Shaffer, Mark Secrist and Mike Long officiating. Burial followed in Mount Pleasant Cemetery.

Freda M. Hurley

Freda M. Hurley, 73, of Oak Hill, died March 1, 2006, at Plateau Medical Center of a long illness.

Born March 31, 1932, at Robson, she was the daughter of the late Robert Lee Blake and Lucy Atkins Blake. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Hurley; sisters, Nina Johnson, Georgia Carpenter, Elliston Prichard, Irene Lilly and Margaret Bonds; and a brother, James Blake.

Freda was the co-owner with her husband of Ken’s Cycle Shop in Oak Hill, and also worked for Beckley Manufacturing.

Surviving: her daughters, Kathy Villarreal and husband, Salvador, of Oak Hill, Kay Hurtado and husband, Richard, of Oak Hill, and Kenna Mitchell of Hilltop; a sister, Audrey Payne of Pulaski, Va.; grandchildren, Kelly Taylor, Kasie Miller and Eric Keith; and great-grandchildren, Bret Miller, Kayne Dillard and Karlie Taylor.
