Daisy Ferrell

Daisy “Faye” Ferrell, 63, of Lizemores, died Aug. 11, 2013.

She was born Nov. 16, 1949, in Dutch Ridge.

Surviving: her husband, Bob Ferrell of Lizemores; son, Eric Ferrell and wife Phelena of Lizemores; daughter, Beth Bailey of Troutman, N.C.; the loves of her life, her grandchildren, Katie Ferrell and Eric Ferrell of Lizemores; and sisters, Shirley Maynard of Brownsville and Arlene Mullins of Oak Hill.

 A memorial service was held Aug. 15 at the Brownsville Holiness Church with the Rev. Charles Blankenship officiating.

Seth Andrew Martin

Seth Andrew Martin, 20, of Charmco, died Aug. 13, 2013, at his home.

Born June 7, 1993, in Charlottesville, Va., he was the son of the late Mary Elizabeth Newman Martin and Keith A. “Tony” Martin and wife Bonnie of Meadow Bridge.

Seth loved hunting, electrical work and helping his Paw Paw Buck do carpentry.

He was of the Holiness faith.

Surviving, in addition to his father and stepmother: brothers, Levi Martin of Huntington, Luke Martin and wife Kayla of Charmco, with whom he lived, and Christopher Watson, Tony Martin and Isaac Martin, all of Meadow Bridge; sisters Betty Watson and Faith Martin, both of Meadow Bridge; grandparents, Donald “Buck” Martin and wife Katie of Rainelle, Robert and Mary Newman of Hines, Anna Vestal of Arizona, and Cecil Ewing of Meadow Bridge; and one nephew Anthony Martin, Seth’s shadow, of Charmco.

Services were Aug. 17 at Smathers Funeral Chapel, Inc. with Sebby Volpe officiating. Burial followed in the Wallace Memorial Cemetery at Clintonville.

Jarrold Glenn Miller

Jarrold Glenn “Perk” Miller, 75, of Victor, died Aug. 18, 2013, at the Veterans Medical Center in Beckley.

Jarrold was born Jan. 3, 1938, in Beards Fork, son of the late James Floyd Miller and Bertha Opal Harrah Miller. He also was preceded in death by a sister, Janet Clark, and a brother, Jim Miller.

“Perk” was a retired truck driver for the Fayette County Division of Highways.

He served in the U.S. Army and was a member of Ansted Church of the Redeemer.

Surviving: his daughters, Dixie Miller of Victor and Jerri Miller Skaggs of Richwood; his longtime companion and caregiver, Drema Cowles of Victor; sisters, Carol Lynch and Ted of Toledo, Ohio, Karen Moore and Wayne of Winfield, JoAnn Cole and Jim of Scott Depot; and a brother, Jack Miller and Sandy of Ansted.

Funeral services were Aug. 21 at Wallace and Wallace Funeral Home Chapel in Ansted with Father Roy Gene Crist and Father Stan Holmes officiating. Burial followed in the Legg Cemetery on Sunday Road at Hico.
