Cloteile Hodge Belveal

Cloteile Hodge Belveal, 87, of Stephens City, Va., formerly of Packs Branch, died at the Hidden Springs Senior Living in Bentonville, Va.

Born Feb. 12, 1926, at Price Hill, she was the daughter of the late Elbert L. and Nina Elizabeth Williams Hodge. She also was preceded in death by one brother, Emerson Hodge, and one sister, Leona Hall.

She retired as a secretary for U.S. Department of Agriculture in Washington, D.C., after 30 years of service and was a member of the Packs Branch Baptist Church.

Surviving: son, Ronald Belveal and his wife, Lynda, of Stephens City, Va.; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sisters, Sylvia Rosenshine of Waynesboro, Va., Doris Miller of Luray, Va., and Orquida Hurd of Mt. Pleasant, S.C.; and brothers, Richard E. Hodge of Waynesboro, Va., and Glenn M. Hodge of Harrisonburg, Va.

Funeral services were held June 22 at Packs Branch Baptist Church with Pastor Sam Vance officiating. Burial followed at High Lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill.

Dorlene M. Benger

Dorlene M. Benger, 91, of Ansted, died peacefully June 22, 2013, after a courageous short illness.

Born Aug. 26, 1921, at Powellton, she was the daughter of the late Martin and Gertrude Miranda Kidd, and was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Dorlene also was preceded in death by her husband, David T. Benger.

Dorlene touched the lives of many people with her generosity and good cooking and baking, and maintained courage all the way to the end.

Surviving: son, David R. Benger of Ansted; daughters, Ladonna Jane Benger of Fayetteville and Rhonda G. Fox of Ansted; son, Mark R. Benger and wife Robin of Summersville; grandchildren, David R. Benger ll and his wife, Eve, of Mesa, Ariz., Stewart L. Fox and companion Stephanie Monroe and her son, Evan, of Ansted, Jayme C. Fox and wife Kristi of Ansted, Dr. Jeremy M. Benger, DO, and companion Jill Newhouse of Pittsburgh, Pa., Tara Benger of Sevierville, Tenn.; and great-grandchildren, Cameron Behlert, Anthony J. Fox, Jessica L. Fox, Dakota Benger, and Tygart Benger.

Funeral services were June 25 at the Trinity Assembly of God, Ansted, with Pastor Michael Angelona officiating. Burial followed at Restlawn Memory Gardens, Victor.
