Willogene Malinda Hamrick Brown
Willogene Malinda Hamrick Brown, 69, of Oak Hill, died April 27, 2014, at Bowers Hospice House in Beckley.
Born April 7, 1945, at Webster Springs, she was the daughter of the late Price and Nevada Channell Hamrick. She also was preceded in death by her brother, Donnie Hamrick.
Mrs. Brown was a member of the Fellowship Memorial Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school. She was a homemaker.
Surviving: husband, Frank R. Brown; daughter, Patty Brown of Bradley; son, Richard Brown of Oak Hill; brothers, Buddy Hamrick and wife Sandy of Upper Glade and Bob Hamrick and wife Norma of Bolair; sisters, Linda Collins and husband Jimmy of Flatwoods and Nancy Adkins and Howard Worrick of Beckley; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A visitation was held April 30 at Tyree Funeral Home in Oak Hill, after which Mrs. Brown was to be cremated. A committal will be held at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens in Prosperity at a later date.

Martha J. Carver
Martha J. Carver, 93, of Edmond, died April 26, 2014, at Ansted Center of Ansted following a long illness.
Martha was born April 26, 1921, in Lansing, the daughter of the late Lester C. Bragg and Mary E. Newton Bragg. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence M. Carver, on Oct. 9, 2013.
Martha was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
She was a homemaker and a wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Surviving: her children, Mary L. Wynes of Arlington, Va., Marcella A. Sine and Alvin of Hardy, Va., Betty J. Legg and Buzzy of Lookout, Randolph M. Carver and Martha of Edmond, James E. Carver of Corliss, Larry M. Carver and Pam of Hico and Charles D. Carver and Jeanette of Edmond; 11 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Graveside service was April 30 at Restlawn Memory Gardens With Rev. Harold “Buzzy” Legg officiating.
