Norma Jean Ellis

Norma Jean Ellis, 84, of Oak Hill, died April 22, 2014.

Arrangements are pending with the Blue Ridge Funeral Home and Cremations, Prosperity.

Janet Marie Rice Forren

Janet Marie Rice Forren, 52, of Minden, died April 25, 2014, at Plateau Medical Center, Oak Hill.

Born March 23, 1962, at Cleveland, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Albertis “Bert” Rice Jr. and Wilma Maxine Minor Rice Evans. She also was preceded in death by three brothers, Larry Rice, Ronald Rice and Scott Evans.

Janet was a homemaker.

Surviving: her husband, Samuel Harvey Forren; sons, Robbie Austin Forren of Minden, Theodore Michael Forren and wife Lindsey of Glenville, and Jonathan Harvey Forren and wife Shirley of Oak Hill; granddaughter, Johanna Forren; and brothers and sisters, Richard Rice and wife Lisa of Princeton, Ky., Sandy Arrington and husband Greg of Summersville, Beverly Toney and husband Darrell of Knightdale, N.C., Billy Rice and wife Wanda of Wichita, Kan., Steven Rice and wife Michele of Ft. Worth, Texas and Daniel Evans and wife Patti of Mossy.

Services will be on Thursday, May 1, at 2 p.m. at Tyree Funeral Home in Oak Hill with Pastor Shawn Evans officiating. Burial will be at High Lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill.

Lou Ellen Griffith

Lou Ellen Griffith, 72, of Ansted, formerly of Cottle, died March 23, 2014, in Ansted, following a long illness.

Born July 2, 1941, in Braxton County, Lou was the daughter of the late Charlie Hosey and Marie Woodley Hosey. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Irvin Griffith, and a daughter, Frances Darlene Ramsey.

She was a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and a homemaker.

Surviving: daughters, Vicki Logan of Orlanda, Fla. and Deanea Anette Allen of Fairmont; a son, Charles Samuel Griffith Sr. of St. Marys; sisters, Joyce N. Hosey and Linda K. Hosey of Braxton County; brother, Charles Hosey of Braxton County; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Memorial services were March 31 at West Virginia Memorial Gardens in Calvin, with Pastor Tim Skaggs officiating. Burial followed in West Virginia Memorial Gardens.
