James ‘Jimmy’ Ervin Altice Sr.

James “Jimmy” Ervin Altice Sr., 65, of Oak Hill, died Sept. 20, 2012, at Beckley ARH Hospital.

Born May 19, 1947, at Sun, he was the son of the late William C. Altice Sr. and Nellie Mae (Waddell) Altice Johnson. He also was preceded in death by his stepfather, Charlie Johnson; son, James “Jimbo” Ervin Altice Jr.; brother, William “Buddy” Clarence Altice Jr.; sisters, Ebbie, Ella, Ruby, Tootie, and Rayola; and grandson, Preston J. Altice.

Surviving: his wife, Mary Beth “Cookie” Altice; daughters, Tina Sue Francisco and husband Bradley of Mt. Hope, Lisa Sue Sadler and husband Jimmy of Daniels, Melissa Ann Stiefer and husband Mark of Coal City, and Tammy Lynn Altice and companion Shawn Anderson of Crab Orchard; stepdaughters, Jimelle Dillon of Oak Hill and Tralissa Combs and husband Lee of Fayetteville; sister, Debra Tiscareno of Pax; 11 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral service was Sept. 23 at High Lawn Funeral Home Chapel, Oak Hill, with Rev. Bryan White officiating. Burial followed in High Lawn Memorial Park.

Donnie L. Austin

Donnie Lynn Austin, 59, of Fayetteville, died Sept. 16, 2012.

Born Aug. 10, 1953, in North Carolina, he was the son of the late Wade Lawrence and Helen Allene Early Austin. He also was preceded in death by his first wife, Jo Elizabeth Cherrington Austin, in 1993.

Mr. Austin was a member of Fayetteville United Methodist Church, a member of Fayetteville Community Choir and worked with the food pantry at the church.

He was a former radio/TV broadcast producer for various media outlets in the area, and he had worked in the maintenance department at the Fayette County Court House.

Surviving: his wife, Patsy Austin; sons, Reed Andrew Austin of Huttonsville and Christopher “Nick” Austin of Hilton Head, S.C.; stepchildren, Christopher Turner, Vincent Turner, Laura Turner and Mary E. Gatlin Massey; brother, Danny Austin and wife Judy of Ohio; and nine step-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Friday, September 21, at the Fayetteville United Methodist Church.

Funeral services were Sept. 21 at the Fayetteville United Methodist Church with the Rev. Clare Sulgit-Horn officiating. Following the service he was cremated.
