Michael Lee Bryson

Michael Lee Bryson, 32, of Minden, died Aug. 31, 2012, as a result of an automobile accident.

Born Nov. 3, 1979, in Cleveland, Ohio, he was the son of Frances Arlene Coburger and the late Richard Lee Guptill. Besides his father, he was preceded in death by grandfather Frank Herman Bryson; and step-grandfather Billy Joe Adkins.

Michael was a lineman for Rader Line Company.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping.

Surviving: his wife, Erika Dawn Lopez-Bryson of Oak Hill; brothers, Joshua Berry and Rick Guptill; half-brothers and sister, Melissa, Timothy and Christopher; grandmother, Margaret Adkins; foster son, James Lafferty; and a host of other family and friends.

Memorial services were held Sept. 9 at the home of his grandmother, Margaret Adkins of Beckwith.

June Loretta Cochran-Craddock

June Loretta Cochran-Craddock, 79, died Sept. 19, 2012, at home in Oak Hill.

June was born in Glen White, on Nov. 21, 1932, daughter of the late James F. Cochran and Margaret Estep Cochran. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Eldridge E. Craddock; and brother, Dale Cochran.

June was a devoted wife and mother for 59 years. She was active in the Church of Christ in Prosperity, and Okeechobee, Fla., and during her last years attended the Oak Hill Church of Christ.

Surviving: her daughter, Virginia (Jenny) and Bill Reece; sons, William (Bill) and Aida Craddock and James (Jim) and Kelly Craddock; sister, Gloria Smali of Toledo, Ohio; brother, James Cochran of New Smyrna, Fla.; grandchildren, Kristi Holdren (whom she helped rear), Joshua and Jodell Craddock, Callie Craddock; great-grandson, Ashwin Edmund; stepgrandchildren, EJ and Wendy Ballard, Melissa Ballard, Christine Peters, Aretta Underwood, and Billy Ray Reece III; stepgrandchildren, Tony, Zachary, Blade, Jessica, Sammy, Sharon, and Trinity; and stepgreat-grandchild, Emma.

A celebration of June’s life was conducted Sept. 22, at the Rose and Quesenberry Funeral Chapel in Beckley, with Minister John Scott and Minister Ryan Scott officiating. Interment followed at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens in Prosperity.
