Virginia Light Henderson

Virginia Light Henderson, 74, of Bentley, Mich., formerly of Fayetteville, died Sept. 21, 2012, at home.

Born Oct. 21, 1937, in Fayetteville, she was the daughter of the late William and Isabel Henley Light. She also was preceded in death by four brothers, Samuel Light, Walter Light, John W. Light, and Guy L. Light; a sister, Geneva Green; and Baby Light.

Mrs. Henderson was a member of Rhodes Missionary Church and later Standish Free Methodist. She was a Sunday school teacher and taught Vacation Bible School. She also volunteered at her grandson’s school.

She graduated from Fayetteville High School.

She was a nurse’s aide for 17 years in a long-term care facility for the elderly. She carried candy in her pockets for all children.

She enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren, collecting rocks, watching birds “as well as people,” and seeing pictures in rocks and other bits of nature.

Surviving: her husband, Marvin Henderson; son, Marvin Henderson Jr. (Deb); granddaughters, Emily, Jamie, and Hannah; great-grandchildren, Ray Jr. and Jaylynn; daughter, Marva Hartley (Tom); grandsons, Mitchell Hartley and Dale Henderson; granddaughters, Emily and Klarissa Hartley; daughter, Gina Bentley and fiancé Keegan Wachowicz; grandson, Donnivan Wachowicz; granddaughter, Zoey Bentley; and siblings, Ruth Vegh Light, Jack Light, Helen Light Bryant (Charles), Charles Light (Tince), Thomas Light (Kathy), George Light (Betty), Ronald Light (Pat), Larry Light (Sharon), and Russell Light (Lindy).

Funeral services were  Sept. 25 at Dodd-Payne-Hess Funeral Home, Fayetteville, with Rev. Eddie Persinger officiating. Burial followed in Huse Memorial Park, Fayetteville.

Helen Madeline Williams Hinkle

Helen Madeline Williams Hinkle, 89, of Pax, died Sept. 21, 2012, at her home.

Born March 19, 1923, at Long Branch, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Clara Lively Williams. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

She was a retired registered nurse, having worked for Dr. Lytle for 25 years, and served as Director of Nursing for New Horizon in Ocala, Fla.

Mrs. Hinkle was a member of First Baptist Church in Ocala, Fla.

Surviving: son, Timothy Hinkle of Buckhannon; daughters, Judith Mock and Nancy Holloway of Ocala, Fla.; four grandchildren, and five great-grandchldren.

Graveside rites, with burial following, were Sept. 24, at Dock Lively Cemetery at Long Branch with Pastor Doug Holley officiating.
