Forrest L. ‘Moose’ Bragg

Forrest Lee Bragg, better known to all as “Moose,” 51, of Ansted, died May 27, 2013, at Bowers Hospice House in Beckley.

Moose was born on Tuesday, July 11, 1961, in Oak Hill, son of the late Lyda Scott Parrish Bragg O’Dell. He also was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Robert E. “Pete” and Ina V. Bragg Parrish; his paternal grandparents, James Lee and Garnette M. James Bragg; and a brother-in-law, Patrick S. Lockard.

He was a 1980 graduate of Midland Trail High School, a proud United States Air Force veteran of Desert Storm and an outstanding Fayette County 911 dispatcher for 20 years.

He believed in God.

“Moose” was a genuine people person, who will be forever missed and lovingly remembered by his family and friends.

Surviving: his special niece, Carol Jean, and his great-nephew, Corey, and great-niece, Rosa Palazzo, all of Lansing, who moved in with him to care for him during his illness; his sister, Tammy A. Lockard of Lansing; brothers and their wives, Wesley S. and Debbi Bragg of England, United Kingdom, Martin S. and Stacey Bragg of Masontown, and T. Chris O’Dell of Mt. Nebo; nieces and nephews, Amanda Roland, Renee Bragg, and Richard Bragg, all of Georgia, Ann Escobar, Clinton Bragg, and Laura Bragg, all of England, U.K., and Tyler Bragg of Missouri, Cody and Amanda O’Dell of Ansted, and Kelsey O’Dell of Lookout; great-nephews, Braxton and Brody O’Dell of Ansted; special cousins, Aubrey Fox, D.D. Fox, and Kayla and Christian Wyatt, all of Oak Hill, and Jeff Palazzo of Conn., along with many other family members and friends.

Funeral service was June 1 at Wallace and Wallace Funeral Home Chapel in Ansted with Father Roy Gene Crist officiating. Burial followed in Restlawn Memory Gardens, Victor.
