Margaret Faye Davis Baber
Margaret Faye Davis Baber, 73, of Oak Hill, died Oct. 18, 2009, at Bowers Hospice House in Beckley.
Born Aug. 2, 1936, at Dutch Ridge, she was the daughter of the late Ocie and Elda Burns Davis. Her husband, Frank Basil Baber; sister, Betty Stamper; and brothers, Dallas Davis and Peg Mason, also preceded her in death.
Mrs. Baber was a member of the Mossy Living Word Pentecostal Holiness Church and was a homemaker. She had a great love of and kindness for animals.
Surviving: sons, Allen W. Baber of Oak Hill and Charles Ray Davis of Alabama; daughter, Elizabeth Ann Baber of North Carolina; stepson, Johnny Baber; half-sister, Kathleen Moore of Shipshewana, Ind.; one grandchild; and nieces and nephews including Elaine, Carole, Penni, Lindy, Tim and Mike.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, Oct. 22 at 11 a.m. at the Mossy Living Word Pentecostal Holiness Church with Rev. Paul Basham officiating.

Lisa Dawn Ingram Berry
Lisa Dawn Ingram Berry, 45, of Fayetteville, died Oct. 15, 2009, at CAMC Memorial Division, following complications with medical issues.
Born July 14, 1964, in Morehead City, N.C., Lisa was a daughter of the late Johnny and Mary Mason Ingram Sr. Both parents preceded her in death in 2004.
Lisa was a graduate of West Virginia Tech, she held a master’s degree in special education, she obtained several hours of continuing education, she was employed with Fayette County Board of Education for 20 years, teaching in various Fayette County Schools, at present she was employed as a school teacher at Oak Hill High School, she was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church of Ansted, attended Graydon Baptist Church of Graydon, a member of BPW Association, she was an avid cook who loved to share her recipes and many of her dishes with friends and family. Lisa was a wonderful wife, mother and sister as well as a devoted school teacher; she loved children and was very dedicated to her teaching profession.
Surviving: her husband, Thomas Berry of Fayetteville; sons, Lucas Berry and Chase Berry, both at home; a sister, Brenda Cantu of Natchez, Miss.; a brother, Johnny Ingram Jr. of Ansted; aunts, uncles, several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
Funeral service was Oct. 17 at Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home Chapel in Ansted with Pastor Phillip Dent officiating. Burial followed in High Lawn Memorial Park in Oak Hill.

Kristina Cherie Graves Furrow
Kristina Cherie Graves Furrow, 28, of Beaver, formerly of Fayetteville, died Oct. 10, 2009.
Born June 7, 1981, in Beckley, she was the daughter of Brenda Redden Graves of Beaver and the late Eldon Darwin Graves.
Kristina was a graduate of Fayetteville High School and was employed by area restaurants including Shoney’s, Arby’s and most recently at the Dairy Queen in Beaver.
She was a member of the Shepherd Worship Center on Summerlee Road, Oak Hill, and was a volunteer at Hand & Hand Missions.
Surviving, in addition to her mother: her husband, Gary Eugene Furrow of Beaver; and half-brothers, Jamie Eldon Becker Graves of Shinnston, and James Patrick Wright of Illinois.
Funeral services were Oct. 20, from the Shepherd Worship Center, Summerlee Road, Oak Hill, with Pastor Randy E. McGuire officiating. Burial followed in Oak Grove Cemetery, Beckley.

Allison Ruth Mills
Allison Ruth Mills, 74, of Oak Hill, died Oct. 13, 2009, at Raleigh General Hospital in Beckley.
Born Sept. 24, 1935, at Elk Ridge, she was the daughter of the late Chester and Mabel Nine Rinehart. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Edward Mills, and by a brother, Clifford Rinehart.
Allison was a homemaker and a member of the Hampshire View Baptist Church, formerly Wheaton Baptist Church, in Maryland.
Surviving: her daughters, Sandy Sutton of Frederick, Md., and Deanna Saxton and Donna Mills, both of Oak Hill; brother, Larry Rinehart of Hillsboro, Ill.; sister, Carol Foster of Oak Hill; and grandchildren, Jamie, Alexis and Dawn Sutton, Jesse, Stetson and Wyatt Mills.
Funeral services were Oct. 16 from the Tyree Funeral Home Chapel, Oak Hill, with Rev. Gary Lilly officiating. Burial followed in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens at Beckley.

Jack Edward Montgomery
Jack “Squirrel” Edward Montgomery, 56, of Dothan, died Oct. 19, 2009, at Bowers Hospice House in Beckley.
Born Sept. 4, 1953, at Montgomery, he was the son of the late James Workman and Gladys Louise Amick Montgomery. His first wife, Patricia Lynn Treadway Montgomery; second wife, Barbara Ann James Montgomery; daughter, Tina Michelle Montgomery; and son, James Montgomery also preceded him in death.
Jack was a member of the Dothan Community Church.
Surviving: his wife, Mary Naylor Pennington Montgomery; stepchildren, Sylvia Blevins of Danville, Georgie Rollins of Robson, Jeremiah Pennington of Logan and Jeremy Scott James of Beckwith; a sister, Susie Stark of Whipple; a special niece and nephew, John Montgomery and Sarah Montgomery; and a host of friends.
Services will be on Thursday, Oct. 22 at 2 p.m. at Tyree Funeral Home in Oak Hill with Pastor Lum Toney officiating. Burial will be at High Lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill.

George ‘Pete’ Murray Sr.
George “Pete” Murray Sr., 65, of Prudence, died Oct. 13, 2009, at CAMC General Division.
Born May 1, 1944, at Sand Branch, he was the son of the late Rev. Paul Jonas and Nancy Caudill Murray Sr. He also was preceded in death by seven brothers and three sisters.
Mr. Murray was the retired owner/operator of Murray’s Appliance Sales and Service in Oak Hill for 24 years and was a member of the Mt. Hope Methodist Church.
Surviving: his wife of 45 years, Shirley Gilkerson Murray of Prudence; son, George H. Murray Jr. of Prudence; daughter, Theresa Sanger and husband Steven of Fayetteville; grandchildren, Leah, Ashley and Tyler Scott, Rheanna and Aliceson; a great-granddaughter, Krista; and a brother, Billy Ray Murray Sr. and wife Janice of Oak Hill.
Funeral services were Oct. 17 at the Tyree Funeral Home Chapel, Oak Hill, with the Rev. Howard “Jr.” Calvert officiating. Burial followed in Gethsemane Memorial Gardens, Pea Ridge Road, Oak Hill.

James Edward Williams
James Edward Williams, 61, of Manassas, Va., formerly of Oak Hill, died Oct. 12, 2009, at home, following a sudden illness.
Mr. Williams was born in Oak Hill on July 14, 1948. He was preceded in death by his father, Bearl Williams.
Mr. Williams served in the U.S. Army and was employed by the Army/Navy Golf Course at Fairfax, Va.
Surviving: his mother, Evelyn Ellison Williams Fuller of Milton; a sister, Pat Fitzwater and husband Harold of Scott Depot; step-brother, Harry Fuller and family of Fayetteville; and nephews, Kevin Fitzwater and family and Brad Fitzwater and family, all of Scott Depot.
