Julia ‘Dodie’ Ferrell

Mrs. Julia “Dodie” Ferrell, 60, of Charlotte, N.C., formerly of Harlem Heights, died Oct. 26, 2013.

Funeral service will be 1 p.m., Friday, Nov. 1, at Spirit and Truth Ministries, 100 Main Street West, Oak Hill, with Bishop Sam R. Calloway Jr. officiating.

Friends may call two hours prior to the service at the church.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Spirit and Truth Ministries, 100 Main Street West, Oak Hill, WV 25901.

Charles ‘Buck’ Edward Hornsby

Charles “Buck” Edward Hornsby, 83, of Victor, died Oct. 28, 2013, at the residence of his daughter following a long illness.

Born Oct. 14, 1930, at Cedar Grove, he was the son of the late John and Ida Mae Darby Tanthorey. He also was preceded by his first wife, Alice Simms Hornsby, in 2004; sisters, Marie Lanham and Francis Barher; and brothers, Meloin and Robert Tanthorey.

He was a retired coal miner, a veteran of the United States Navy and he was of the Pentecostal faith.

Surviving: his wife, Hilda Mae Holcomb Hornsby; daughters, Cynthia Bennett and husband George of Ramsey and Lisa Snyder and husband Robert of Elizabethton, Tenn.; sons, Robert and wife Kay of Beards Fork, Gary and wife Jodie of Fayetteville, Scott and wife Dina of Ramsey and Kenneth and wife Robin of Elizabethton, Tenn.; a sister, Mary Brown of Fayetteville; 23 grandchildren and 35 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 2, at Wallace & Wallace Funeral Chapel, Ansted, with Pastor Danny Legg officiating. Burial will follow at Restlawn Memory Gardens, Victor.

Friends may gather with the family Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Marjorie Eloise Ingram

Marjorie Eloise Ingram, 92, of Ansted, died Oct. 28, 2013, at Bowers Hospice House, Beckley.

Born Aug. 5, 1921, at Ansted, she was the daughter of the late Roy and Carrie McGraw Parrish. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Ingram; brother, Robert Parrish; and Dorothy Nichols.

Mrs. Ingram was a member of Lovers Leap Baptist Church, Ansted, where she a member of the ABW. She was active at the Ansted Senior Center and volunteered at the Contentment House in Ansted.

She graduated from Ansted High School, later working at IBM in Bethlehem, Pa.

Surviving: her daughter, Marjorie (Jack) Guthrie of Ansted; sons, Thomas (Patricia) Ingram and Dennis Ingram and his companion, Tracey, both of Ansted; granddaughters, Kari Ann (Mark) Elkins, Hannah (Joe) Critchley and Holly (Lorne Davis) Ingram; great-grandsons, Connor Critchley, Brantley Davis and Robert Guthrie; great-granddaughter, Kylee Critchley; sister-in-law, Thelma (Ed) Fabin; nephew, Kevin Parrish; and a host of other family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 1,at Lovers Leap Baptist Church, Ansted, with Pastor Ron George Sr. officiating. Burial follows at the Hendricks Cemetery at Turkey Creek.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 31, at Dodd-Payne-Hess Funeral Home, Fayetteville.

Edward P. McKown

Edward P. McKown, 74, of Charleston, died Oct. 19, 2013.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, Nov. 9, at 2 p.m. at St. Mark's United Methodist Church, 900 Washington Street East, in Charleston.

Heath Wayne Robinson

Heath Wayne Robinson, 42, of Edmond, died Oct. 24, 2013.

Born June 29, 1971, at Oak Hill, he was the son of Charles Matthew and Barbara Allan Boardwine Robinson of Silver Springs, Fla. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Clifford Boardwine.

Heath was a heavy equipment operator for Radford-Radford Construction, which he felt were wonderful employers.

He was an avid hunter and sportsman.

Surviving: his wife, Mary Robinson; parents, Charles and Barbara Robinson of Silver Springs; brother, Brian (Rhonda) Robinson of Bolt; sister, Carrie (Michael) Webb of Cool Ridge; grandmother, Katherine Boardwine of Fayetteville; stepdaughters, Heather (fiancé J.J. Thorne) Roberts of Oak Hill and Ashley (Richard) Underwood of Richlands, Va.; stepgrandchildren, Connor Roberts, Matthew Roberts, Morgan Underwood and Lillian Underwood; and a host of other family and friends.

Funeral services were held Oct. 27 at Dodd-Payne-Hess Funeral Home, Fayetteville.
