Gregory Giles Kees
Gregory Giles Kees, 60, of Oak Hill, died May 13, 2013, at CAMC - Memorial Division in Charleston.
Born Dec. 10, 1952, at Charleston, he was the son of Delmer Giles Kees of Shady Spring, and the late Jessie Katherine Peal Kees.
Greg was a mechanical pipe fitter for DuPont.
A U.S. Navy veteran, he served during Vietnam. To say he was an avid fisherman would be an understatement.
Surviving: his wife, Della Mae Smith Johnson; daughters, Jessie Treadway and husband Marshall of Oak Hill and Lorna Lewis and husband Danny of Walkertown, N.C.; brother, Mark Kees and wife Sharon of St. Augustine, Fla.; grandchildren, Aaron Lewis and Kristal Lewis; and a great-granddaughter, Alyssa Stewart.
In keeping with his wishes Mr. Kees was cremated. Family and friends are invited to a time of remembrance which will be held at Tyree Funeral Home in Oak Hill on Thursday, May 16, from 6 to 8 p.m.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the March of Dimes — WV Chapter, 3508 Staunton Avenue SE — 2nd Floor, Charleston WV 25304.

Melvin Eugene ‘Melvie’ Lewis
Melvin Eugene “Melvie” Lewis, 43, of Lester, died May 6, 2013, at Raleigh General Hospital, Beckley.
Born Nov. 25, 1969, at Beckley, he was the son of Mildred Treadway Lewis of Lester and the late Melvin Cargyle Lewis.
Melvie loved video games, watching TV and reading. He had attended NIT at Cross Lanes.
Previously he had worked at Kroger, Montgomery Ward, John W. Eye and in the warehouse at Sear’s.
Surviving: his mother, Mildred Treadway Lewis of Lester; sisters, Joyce (Kenneth) Carpenter, Donna Caughlin and Patricia (Frank) Mason, all of Lester; nieces, April (Greg) Mitchem and Kymber Mason; and nephews, Michael, Zachary and Daniel Carpenter, Ronnie Allen and Tyler Mason.
Funeral services were held May 10 at his residence, with Rev. Brian McCallister officiating. Burial followed at the Lewis Family Cemetery at the home place.
