Elizabeth Ann LaRocco

Elizabeth Ann LaRocco, of Oak Hill, died April 17, 2014.

Libby was born March 25, 1949, the daughter of Aileen Treadway and the late Claris Treadway. She also was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Nick LaRocco.

She was a member of the class of 1967 of Collins High School where she excelled in Home Economics and was selected by her classmates as attendants to Miss Red Devil and May Queen. There she met her true love, Nick LaRocco Jr., and was married for 47 years.

She was an incredible inspiration to her children and was adored by her grandchildren. Her best days were spent with her family gathering at Thurmond along the New River watching her son and grandsons play Oak Hill baseball. She loved every moment she spent with her grandkids.

Libby was a joy to be around and was treasured by all who knew her. She valued family most and will be greatly missed by them all.

Surviving: mother, Aileen Treadway; children, Michael and Michell; her grandchildren, Noah, Camden, and Natalie; sister, Sheila Toney and husband Ham; brother, Gary Treadway and wife Wanda; son-in-law, Ardie Craddock; sisters-in-law, Josephine Butcher and husband Dave and Marlene Adkins and husband Mick; brother-in-law, Bo LaRocco and wife Pat; mother-in-law, Mary LaRocco; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, neighbors and friends.

Funeral rites were April 21 at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Oak Hill.

In her honor donations may be made to SSPP Catholic School.

Launa Jennings Maynor Logan

Launa Jennings Maynor Logan, 93, of Maynor Branch Road, died April 18, 2014, at Hilltop Center.

Born Dec. 17, 1920, at Cirtsville, she was the daughter of the late Grover Cleveland and Cyentha E. Romine Maynor. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Rockford Logan; daughters, Nancy Tatum and Debra Vipperman; granddaughter, Kami Logan; grandson, Bert Wayne Tatum; and great-grandson, John Smith and Kami Logan.

Mrs. Logan was a member of the Mount Hope Baptist Temple.

Surviving: daughters, Janet Kincaid and husband Robert of Beckley, Beverly Jacobs and husband Ronald of Dover, Del., and Lillian Logan of Beckley; sons, Samuel Logan and wife Patty and Daniel Logan and wife Anna, all of Mount Hope, and Glenn Logan of Beckley; 15 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were April 21 at Mount Hope Baptist Temple with Pastor Lester Harper and Pastor Dana Gatewood officiating. Burial followed at Romine Cemetery, Maynor Branch Road.
