Lisa Moran Naylor

Lisa Elaine Moran Naylor, 56, of Fayetteville, died of ovarian cancer on March 5, 2014.

Born Aug. 8, 1957, at Hilltop, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Anna Lounette Aliff Moran. She also was preceded in death by a cousin, Karen Ferrell, and a nephew, Adam Naylor.

Lisa was a 1975 graduate of Fayetteville High School and was most recently employed at Wildwater Expeditions until cancer left her unable to work in 2006.

Surviving: her husband of 37 years, Timothy Naylor; son, Timothy (Heather) Naylor of Fayetteville; daughter, Holly McDowell and her partner, Amanda Tatum, of Oak Hill; her grandchildren whom she adored, Colton Naylor, Devin, Ashley, Darian, and Cameryn McDowell; her lifelong friends whom she thought of as family, Tama Sweet, Ellen Vera, Kathy Gibson, Sharon (Mike) Barrett and their daughter, Lisa Michele, who was named after Lisa; her caring neighbors, Gloria Adkins and her sons; sisters, Freda Brock of Knightstown, Ind., and Janice (Earl) McGuffin of Waynesboro, Va.; her youngest sister, Karla, who made her home with Lisa; her beloved fur babies, Bunny, Bear, Louise, Leo, Pixie, and Blackie; and extended family, friends, and online communities.

Funeral services were March 8 at Dodd-Payne-Hess Funeral Home, Fayetteville. In keeping with Lisa’s wishes, she was cremated following the services.

Lisa loved spring, summer, being outside, going to yard sales, and selling her treasures on eBay. She loved flowers and couldn’t bear to watch them die.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to help with her funeral expenses or to the New River Humane Society, PO Box 955, Fayetteville, WV 25840.

James Edward Patrick

James Edward Patrick, 55, of Page, died March 5, 2014.

Born Oct. 16, 1958, at Hampton, Va., he was the son of the late Elgie and Bessie McKinney Patrick. A sister, Diane Haynie, also preceded him in death.

He was a restaurant cook.

Surviving: daughters, Tracy Butner of Oak Hill, Misty Spurlock of Beards Fork, and Samantha Patrick and Emily Patrick, both of Robson; son, Daniel Patrick of Oak Hill; sisters, Shirley M. Arbaugh of Oak Hill and Gloria O. Patrick and Rachel D. Johnston, both of Page; brother, Clarence R. Patrick of Newport News, Va.; a grandson, Bralen Jones; and numerous nieces and nephews whom he loved and they loved him.

Mr. Patrick was cremated. A memorial service was March 11 at the Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill.
