Donna Moran

Donna Moran, 52, of Oak Hill, died Aug. 31, 2013, from injuries received in a car accident.

Born July 29, 1961, she was the daughter of Lonnie Williams and the late Ina Caroline Williams.

In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her niece, Melissa Johnson.

Donna loved cooking for family gatherings and loved getting together with her friends and family to watch West Virginia football.

Donna had a heart of gold, she would give you the shirt off her back and she loved making everyone laugh.

She was a graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School and was of the Baptist faith. Donna smiled all the time and she was always joking and laughing. She loved everybody and never met a stranger.

Surviving: her father, Lonnie Williams of North Sand Branch Road; daughter, Amanda Harvey and husband Billy of Oak Hill; son, Patrick Moran of Norfolk, Va.; sisters, Diane Aikens of North Sand Branch Road and Debbie Solace and husband Ronnie of Shelbyville, Ky.; brothers, Lonnie Williams Jr. and wife Angela, Ronnie Williams and wife Beverly, and Keith Williams and wife Debbie, all of North Sand Branch Road; and a host of nephews and nieces.

Services were Sept. 7 at Little Valley Baptist Church, South Sand Branch Road, with Pastor Junior Plumley officiating.

T.E. ‘Tommy’ Myles

Thomas Eberly “Tommy” Myles, 90, of Fayetteville, died Aug. 3, 2013.

A memorial service was held Sept. 9 in the courtroom of the Fayette County Courthouse in Fayetteville. Burial of cremains will be private at Huse Memorial Park, Fayetteville.

Sonja Katherine ‘Katbird’ Poole

Sonja Katherine “Katbird” Poole, formerly of Oak Hill, died Aug. 15, 2013, at her home in Valley Village, Calif.

Born Sept. 1, 1952, she was the daughter of the late Audrey Spencer Poole Williams and Claude Poole and stepdaughter of the late Woodrow Williams, all formerly of Scarbro.

Surviving: her siblings, Sandra Poole Gwinn McVige of Casselberry, Fla., and family, Aileen Karol Poole Coffee of Fayetteville, N.C., and family, and Marsha (Lainie Marsh) Williams and family, and Suzanne Williams Johnson and family, all of Nashville, Tenn.

A memorial service will be held on Sept. 14 at 11 a.m. at the Jones Avenue Church of God in Oak Hill.
