Vernie Eileen McGuire

Vernie Eileen McGuire, 45, of Meadow Bridge, died June 18, 2012, at Butler, Pa., of heart failure.

Born April 29, 1967, in Beckley, she was the daughter of the late Daniel William Burns Sr. and Nellie Lori (Thompson) Burns. Vernie also was preceded in death by a sister, Alberta Sue Shaffer; and brothers, Darrell Burns and Daniel Burns.

Vernie had worked at McDonald’s in Rainelle.

Surviving: her husband, Robert Dennis McGuire; sons, Robert A. McGuire and his fiancee, Stephanie Zink, and William D. McGuire; daughter, Samantha Dawn; and by brothers, sisters, grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends.

Mrs. McGuire was cremated.

A memorial service was held July 7 at High Lawn Funeral Home Chapel, Oak Hill.

Barbara Ann Naylor

Barbara Naylor, 81, of Fayetteville, died July 3, 2012, at home.

Born March 2, 1931, at Eskdale, she was the daughter of the late Hazen and Florian Scherer Webb. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Damon Naylor, in 2001; stepson, Stephen Naylor; brothers, Doug Webb, Ben Webb, and Comer Webb; and sisters, Mary Alice Walker and Teresa Fowler.

Mrs. Naylor was a member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church in Fayetteville and a homemaker.

Surviving: her daughters, Jane Walker and husband Herman of Fayetteville and Melanie Peaslee and husband Bob of Pulaski, Va.; son, Mark Naylor and wife Terba of Max Meadows, Va.; brother, Jack Webb of Fayetteville; grandchildren, Megan Tompkins and husband Andrew, Bobby Peaslee and wife Callie, Zach Peaslee and wife Heather, Chris Naylor and wife Cora, Jeremy Naylor, Stephanie Thomas, and Josh Thomas; and great-grandchildren, Karoline, Damon, and Avery.

Graveside services followed by entombment were July 7 at the Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens Mausoleum at Prosperity with Pastor Justin Seay officiating.

Memorials may be made in Mrs. Naylor’s memory to the Emmanuel Baptist Church at Fayetteville.
